GCMIC preserves and advances Marshall's legacy through education, international exchanges, exhibits, and preservation of The Marshall House in Leesburg, VA
The George C. Marshall International Center was founded to preserve The Marshall House, the beloved home of George and Katherine Marshall, and to further the legacy of General Marshall who is considered by many to be one of the greatest modern-day American heroes.
Today, GCMIC’s mission is to preserve and advance Marshall’s legacy of peace and international cooperation as best exemplified by the Marshall Plan for which General Marshall won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953. These objectives are advanced through education programs, international exchanges, community events, and the interpretation of Marshall’s home and gardens.
Education is the cornerstone of our programming. GCMIC's Immersion Workshop for teachers and Student Partnership Exchange Program are designed to strengthen the relationships between Europe and the United States, on a grass roots level, by providing unique experiences for the exchange of ideas among participants from the United States and the Marshall Plan countries.
As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, the George C. Marshall International Center GCMIC relies on a combination of memberships, corporate sponsorships, private donations and grants to fund its mission. Proceeds from contributions, programs and events support our education programs, and help us preserve The Marshall House.
The mission of The George C. Marshall International Center is to preserve and advance the enduring legacy of General George Catlett Marshall by interpreting and propagating its relevance to our time.
