Well there is not enough good that I can say about this place. The physical space has endless options, an eclectic event space, numerous reservable meeting rooms of all sizes- for the quick private phone call to the multimedia group presentation. There are three floors of space for you to utilize. Personal desks and offices, and open, standing tables, & co-working tables. Complete with a ping pong table and weekly networking events. The people and businesses here are even better. They truly believe that collaboration makes stronger products, businesses, and experiences. I would describe the overall feel here as casual, honest, inspiring, professional, and hard-working! They have realizable and fast internet as every entrepreneur depends on!, P.O Boxes available, great work-horse and high quality printers, and the ever-flowing coffee & tea and wine supply as every entrepreneur also depends on! if any of this sounds intriguing to you then come and take a tour- up the stairs, starting in the 2nd floor.
What!!! You don't know what co-working even is?! At all?!?!! >REWIND< Remember when it was just "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle?" Before "Rethink, Re-purpose, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle?" ... What!!! >REWIND--REWIND< [Don't you hate it when you channel your future self] [[I mean, without knowing that;s what you are doing]] [OK, I've got this one...] A co-working space is like a co-housing community [Google it, damn it] but for working together, sharing resources and co-labor-ating by sharing ideas, training snippets little bits of training spread over enough time that no one notices that free training is happening, or if they do notice, they are glad to help a member of their work community "What makes us stronger, makes us Stronger!", a place where a coffee break or a tea break, or a beer break doesn't require even a trip across the street, and is, likely as not, an amazing opportunity to broaden horizons yours or your conversational partners', who cares these things work both ways, remember? [Sorry about the double embedding. Must be all the programmers again...Oops, sorry!] Really, who cares if you are channeling your future self, or picking up on what the people working in the next room are doing? By the time anyone can patent this stuff, we'll be so far beyond where we are now.... OK, Sorry ... Many of our colleagues and friends at The Grove have no direct interest in software design or tech start-ups beyond being glad that their tablet computer works better than the last one [ I, Terry, an glad about all these things, and am especially glad that my new Dragon Touch cost $54 plus tax and shipping.] Many of our friends and colleagues at The Grove are social entrepreneurs, artists -- and folks who haven't yet figured it out who they want to be when they grow up, and even some [like me] who are adamantly refusing to grow up -- people who could hardly care less about technical design stuff -- UNLESS -- someone would like to create a way that some of the kids served by partners in the City-Wide Youth Coalition could become involved in a way that might broaden THEIR horizons. OK, I'm getting all teary-eyed now. Time to make room for others to share some of their experiences. One last note: I, personally, have not set foot inside The Grove in over a year. Has my membership stopped benefiting me in countless ways? Not a speck. Do I want to stop "wasting money" on something I'm not using? Who says I'm not using it -- and what part of Locally Owned Local Business don;t you understand... [OK, Officer -- I was just going across the street to the Elm City Market for tea .... Thanks for helping me get going.] [[Sorry about the 5-star rating. They wouldn't give me any more stars.]]
Must be closed, because I showed up and the door was locked. No one answered the phone, no one returned my voicemail. Absurd. Don't bother coming here until they are actually open and running their business.
