The Heron Restaurant in Danville, Illinois will be open for special events, corporate dinners & events, and open to the public on specific dates. Please check our "Upcoming Events" section on our websites for dates we are open to the public.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
If you are looking to book a special occasion in your life from birthdays, retirements, engagements, showers, weddings, etc, please reach out to us! We work with you on smaller intimate events, as well as larger events up to about 75 people.

Are you tired of not having anywhere "different" to take your clients &/or colleagues around Danville? Allow us to help you wine & dine your out of town guests the right way! The atmosphere at The Heron offers an upscale vibe you can't get anywhere else. Let us help you impress!

REGULAR DINING/PUBLIC EVENTS:
At The Heron we will offer our full service bar and featured menu items to the public on certain nights. Please check our websites "upcoming events" page for specific dates & times.

We will also offer various events from wine tastings, musicians, comedy shows, etc. We will post all events on our Facebook page, as well as the upcoming events page on our website.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Tim and Jamie Berthel, owners, both enjoy fine dining and the fine arts and The Heron is a perfect atmosphere to find others that enjoy it as well.

Tim is a financial adviser at his own financial advisory business. Jamie has her doctorate and is an instructor at Danville Area Community College.

Tim has partnered with Sadie Paige as managing partner to oversee the logistics of events at The Heron. For the coordination of all private parties, special events, reservations, etc, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Very cool spot, location is historic, and feels like a step back to the early 1900s. I had the duck breast with orange sauce. Full of flavor and orange sauce was well balanced. My wife had the lamb chop with hollandaise sauce. Cooked well and very tender. Great addition to Danville and leads the competition in quality.

I’ve been at dinner one time which was awesome and twice to lunch. The first time at lunch, although the food was good, my friend had to open her sandwich and peel the plastic off her cheese. We laughed it off. The waitress went out of her way to apologize . Today we got there around 11:30a.m. Few people were there. I ask for coffee. I got the coffee around 15 to 20 minutes later. The waitress explained she brewed a fresh pot. We ordered , the restaurant begin to fill. About 35 minutes later we received our lunch. Blt and fries. Fries and bacon were cold. The food was good but cold. When the waitress ask how our meal was, I told her we were disappointed. She ask how she could make it right but seriously she couldn’t. It’s disappointing. The food is good, the staff are nice, the atmosphere is awesome , but the temperature of the food and service could use some attention. Finally about 1:00 p.m we were able to leave got there at 11:30 . Never did get a second cup of coffee. I doubt we’ll go back for lunch. We may try dinner again. It was awesome and service was perfect. We do hope the restaurant is successful. Danville needs nice quite restuants.
Not the best food around. The service and staff were very good. Husband had tomato bisque soup. Very thick but tasty, I had French onion very good not a lot of onions. We each ordered a steak. His was a ribeye that was 3/4 fat and gristle my filet was good size but just ok. No seasoning. Green beans were out of a can and carrots with balsamic glaze were raw! Not cooked at all. I don’t think we will return. We informed management who very very cordial and took his plate to show the chef what poor quality his steak was. Sorry Heron, we won’t be returning
Revived classic beautiful downtown building locally owned providing lunches and a variety of evening weekend meals, occasional special brunches and events and also hosting private events. Love it.
Very unique, historic building. Very good food and ambience. Have been there for lunch and dinner.
Lunch was tasty and priced right. Parking can be a bit of a hassle.
Very impressed. Finally, a fine dining option in downtown Danville.
Ordered the mahi mahi tacos and they are excellent! Service is always great!
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Friendly staff.
