The Vance House is one of the oldest structures in Statesville, North Carolina. This house served as headquarters for Governor Zebulon Vance during his exile from the North Carolina State Capitol in 1865 during the last months of the American Civil War.
It is the mission of The Vance Museum to be the proper outreach agent to tell the true history of Governor Vance and his time in Statesville, for the honest story of the Confederate soldier and to educate the public of the history of the Confederate States of America.
