It's a Home Depot. There's not much to screw up unless you're told the wrong aisle and section, which was the case for me. It was a work day, and I needed staples for work and didn't have time to be wandering around, yet even though I asked which aisle I was told the wrong one. Two aisles later, as I ask another employee, I spot the staples through an opening from the next aisle over, and as he points, I say, "Yep, I see them!" Other than that it was fine.
Limited and uninformed assistance is typical. I’ve been checking prices and availability of the items I typically purchase, and have found that Ace Hardware has a Friendly, knowledgeable staff at a location near me. Can usually ask anyone where the strangest of items is located and I am typically directed right to it and it’s exact location. I’ve always liked Home Depot, but the service seems to have slipped dramatically.
The first guy I ran into in plumbing was the embodiment of why I spent twenty years avoiding this chain in the first place, entirely unhelpful and acted as though I was bothering him versus him being there to help the customers. How can he not know 40mm equals an inch and a half? Terri on the other hand was more than helpful after realizing what was going on and was able to help me piece together what I needed.
I have shopped here many many times over the last 12 years. I have never been treated so bad by a employee. He tells me I need to leave that aisle because they need to come get something out with the forklift. A simple how long are you going to be instead of leave this aisle. I didn’t end of buying the items that I already picked up. They need to train employees on customer service interactions.
I had interaction with 2 employees while shopping at HD. Both were impersonal and not helpful. Based on this experience, I will be shopping at Lowes and Menards.
I’d like to leave a more scathing review detailing the many failings of this location to paint a better picture of what went wrong and the multitude of opportunities they had to make it right but this place has robbed me of enough time and attention. In short: complete incompetence and 0 desire to even do their most basic job functions. This place is a microcosm of everything wrong in the world these days. I swear to god we are living through the era of idiocracy.
Cashier's spend more time on their phone than they do helping customers. It's hard to get in and out of the store quickly because they're not doing their job.
Looking for a replacement dishwasher. 3 Associates sitting on appliance area and visiting. One finally asked if I needed help. Told her I was looking for a Bosch model. She did look up on pc bit had no idea about dishwashers. Not much help. Guess I expected too much
Very friendly but I miss the discount for using the Home Depot card. That's why I end up a Lowe's most of the time. Usually about 5-10% lower on Price when you use Lowe's card. But the amaryllis plants I got there this season are absolutely beautiful.
Even though I spend most of my time here hopelessly wandering around, I will always enjoy visiting Home Depot. I've always found what I needed in the past and the pricing is extremely honest and sometimes even a bargain compared to it's competition.
