Wow. I used to think Home Depot cared about their customers. I no longer do and can’t support shopping there after years of spending mega dollars. I purchased a Husky 90” shelf in store and when I got home, prepped everything assembly. This item weigh maybe 200 lbs. I loaded into my car and then into my garage. I started to put it together and then realized that it appeared to be damaged when I got half of it together. I couldn’t understand why it was so difficult and started to look at it and realized what happened. I already cut up the box and put it in the recycle bin and since I was near half way, I thought I would take pictures and then go back to Home Depot Encinitas and ask for a store credit since what I purchased for $399.00 was clearly used and sold to me as new, and it was damaged. See pics. When I spoke to the manager Mack Ruiz, she said you can bring it back and I can get a full refund. I had just managed to put it together over a two hour period, having to bend metal and make it work…and simply wanted a reasonable store credit. She offered me $50. I am so disappointed as a loyal long time customer 14 years. I don’t know if I will return but I encourage you to go elsewhere because Home Depot no longer cares about its customers, even when they are in the wrong. You choose. Home Depot is losing my business for two reasons: 1. Not doing the right thing and 2. For selling me something as new that was clearly used and not taking responsibility for it.
Spent 90 minutes at the return desk escalating my issue to the store manager just to be told that I can’t return a leaking hose since it’s been over 90 days since it’s been purchased. Customer service knew it was purchased a year ago. Still made to wait, I was told I didn’t wait that long- so disrespectful. Not a way to spend a Sunday.
Excellent store with very helpful customer service. I’ve come here a few times for lumber and each time the associates have helped cut the wood to size for me. They made sure it was done properly and measured just how I needed it. The only thing I don’t love about the in-store Home Depot experience is that often times online promotions are not applicable in-store! I’d love to be able to buy everything for the best price online…so I wish they had a policy where they could match their prices online. Otherwise the store is great and the associates are helpful!
This is a great hardware store, and a great Home Depot. There is a great variety of items and each department is well organized and very clean. The staff is very well informed. They guy that made my keys, today, has worked there for 14 years. I have renovated house with everything from Home Depot, including lumber, appliance, cabinets, and paint.
Inventory management is terrible. Items out of stock for months - not just this year but going back many many years. Most associates don't understand their department that well and often can't give good advice. I would go to Lowe's instead 100% of the time they were closer to me.
After my tenant moved out of my home I wanted to change all of the exterior locking door knobs and deadbolts. After selecting the products I wanted, I asked if someone was available to "re-key" them to use the same key for all of the locks. I was directed to Martha in Hardware in store 0660. Martha was AMAZING! Martha quickly realized that I inadvertently selected a combination of "smart key" Kwikset locks and standard locks. She explained the difference and helped me select the matching smart key locks for the entire set. While matching the keys for all the locks she also demonstrated how to re-ley the locks in the future. Martha was fantastic! 5 HUGE STARS!! Thank you Martha! Bob Mendes
The lady that works the paint dept. is trash. You’re better off researching your own questions about anything painting related other than where stuff is in the store, which you can use the app for anyways.
I am a photographer and wanted to do a prop for a photoshoot. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but didn't know how to do my project or the correct materials. Justin, from the Lumber and conposites department, helped me make my project a reality. He helped me pick the correct materials, he cut the plywood into the correct measurements and even showed me how to do it. He helped me feel confident. I am trully greatful and defenitely will be making my own props with Home Depots help, from now on. Thank you Justin for all your help!
I had my white house key copied here so I wouldn’t get locked out of my apartment. I tried to use the green copied key and it didn’t fit into the lock. The key grooves are the correct shape, but it’s not a house type key. I had to wait over an hour and pay a locksmith $218 to get into my home. Getting locked out was that last thing I needed after flying 5.5 hours back to San Diego. I would’ve made my own keys on Aug 6, 2022, but the ‘do it yourself’ copy machine near the registers was out of order. I was referred to an employee at the key copy station groaning, “I’m not supposed to be over here, this isn’t my area.” In retrospect, I could not agree more.
One of my favorite Home Depot’s even though they have very little tool rental options. The best cashier in the world is name Juan and he is the reason this Home Depot makes me smile.
