I am not the type to complain but this was a truly awful experience. On 4/3 I purchased a new washer/dryer and a new fridge. They scheduled my delivery for Monday 5/9. That day, only the fridge could be delivered because I was told I didn't order a stacking kit for the washer/dryer. It was displayed stacked in store and I was never even offered the chance to purchase a stacking kit-how would I even know as a first time buyer? So they took it back, I went to order a stacking kit that day and my new delivery date was today, 5/14. The same gentlemen came to deliver and I was told that I needed longer gas/water lines, why wasn't that told to me back on 5/9? They then said I could go purchase it while they went on lunch and to call them when I was back less than 20 min as their next delivery was 3 minutes away. When I tried calling and texting as told, my phone number was blocked. So now I have my current washer/dryer pulled out of its place and the new washer and dryer taking up my very small kitchen space. I called customer service and was completely written off as this being my fault when it's a company's job to make sure all parts needed are included for a successful delivery, especially when I'm willing to pay for it. The customer service rep I spoke to was rude and condescending and I will never shop here again.
I always have a good experience at this Home Depot with customer service around the store. Tonight was particularly good at checkout with LaTanya, who adroitly helped me check out with an unexpected cart full of plants and accessories at self-checkout. I felt totally taken care of, twice as confident with my purchases with her support, and I feel like she virtually sunned my plants with her care.
Ordered a Samsung top-load washer on sale, with delivery and haul-away of old washer. Delivery guys came out, said the water hook-up faucets were corroded and need to be replaced. So I did that, contacted Home Depot to reschedule delivery, was scheduled successfully. One day before delivery, I receive an email that my installation and haul-away are cancelled. Contact support, they tell me that indeed the delivery of the washer, and the washer order itself, is cancelled, the whole order is cancelled, and I need to re-order and re-pay for it and wait for a refund for the cancelled order. So in order to get the washer I want, I have to pay twice and hope to see a refund sometime in the future. *** UPDATE: After buying a second washer and installation still waiting on the refund for the first, paid for installation AGAIN, they came out today to install it, and refused to install it because the drain hose is too short. So I had to attach a longer hose, as well as set it up, level it, calibrate it, etc. Every chance that Home Depot has had to make this terrible experience better, they have refused to do so. They really need to learn how to get to "Yes". Picture is what they consider an "installed" washer. I will never buy a major appliance at Home Depot again.
Had the most amazing experience yesterday at Home Depot. I was working on a little DIY project for the home and needed advice on lumber and how to achiever the desired results. I went to the lumber area and the man working there at 1:00PM was the most knowledgeable and helpful I've ever experienced. He helped me pick out the least expensive 2 x4s and a piece of plywood and then gave me much needed advice on how to accomplish the project using only the one piece of plywood, cut all the wood to the correct size and then even walked me over to the hardware area to get the correct drill bit, bolts & nuts. Once home every thing was cut perfectly and the project was accomplished with only one trip to Home Depot.... that has to be a record!!
We always like to shop at Home Depot but we found this location is very special. Gregory Thompson is very professional and patient with us, and was always there to help us find the best products for our remodeling project. The staff is big on teamwork and took care of us very well. Lots of smiles and treated us like close friends. We definitely recommend coming to this location.
I have been to this store only sometimes. I needed the stain for my backyard gate. Since I only knew I need a transparent stain. I am not a pro I didn't know what to buy. So I found a gentleman who suggested me something suitable I needed.. Once we settled he left and when the other person gave me the paint I read "Solid color" on it. I asked her that I needed the transparent Stain. The answer was " it is transparent Stain. I paid put it in my car. Upon reaching home, I noticed the sample dried on the cover and it was not transparent. I took it back to the store. All 3 people, one at the return counter and 2 in the paint department flatly refused to return or exchange. Luckily the guy whose name I learned later Mr,Demetrius Triplett came to counter. I recognized him and he even remembered the stain I had chosen. He took the paint from me, looked at it and said," yes this is not the one you asked for." and right away exchanged the right stain for me. All others were mum. He put me at such an ease that I wanted to give him something as a reward but he refused to accept it with thanks. I then decided to mention him and appreciate his professionalism. The arguments others were giving, why didn't I complain when I noticed the color they applied on the cover? I did but the girl said it is transparent. So, I thought it might change to transparent once fully dry. Anyway, I am thankful of people like Mr Demetrius and his courtesy. I will go there again.
It's a home depot.... what can u say. Some associates are really helpful and others see u heading in their direction and they... turn and burn. Thankfully the app is pretty decent for locating the materials I need
Home Depot is fine. The only complaint I had in the recent past is I needed to go to some place I could drop off old fluorescent tube lights. When I looked it up online, Home Depot was the place to go. I went and found out that it is not the place to go for this. And at the moment I still don't know where to go. So maybe they should be a little more specific on recycling fluorescent lights type, size, etc.
Home Depot has everything you need, if you could ever find it. They just don’t have enough staff in the aisles. If you know exactly what you need and where to find it, HD is probably great; otherwise, expect a long visit and a lot of frustration. Staff there is kind and mostly knowledgeable enough, but I’m growing more and more irate every time I visit.
I ordered a washer / dryer unit with installation and installation packet which comes with gas line and dryer vent line. The delivery men arrived and said they could no install because they couldn't disconnect the gas line. They wouldn't pull the washer out far enough to even attempt to disconnect the gas line. They said they needed the gas line turned off first before they could. I told them I worked with management to get that disconnected already this morning. They then said they wouldn't be able to reconnect the new washer because they can't get behind it. I asked about the installation package I purchased. This comes with a six-foot hose which is plenty long to connect and access the back of the unit. They kept giving me the run around then left and rescheduled me. So, I have to move and disconnect the washer myself. Why even pay for a service if they don't do what they say.
