Humble Pie, back in its Elati St days, was my favorite dessert spot in the city. Always pricey but worth the splurge. Pies have unfortunately changed and aren't as good as they used to be. Chocolate Chess used to come with homemade whipped cream and mini chocolate chips. Now, you still pay the steep price for the same pie but no whipped cream or chips. Pies are still good, just not worth what they charge, especially by the slice, so tiny! The lemon/blueberry tart/pie was fantastic. Can't speak for the Savory pies. Service is eh.
Such a cool space and lots of pie options! The crust on everything was tender and flakey - not too dense but sturdy. We had the chicken pot pie the Hawaiian bbq meatball mini pie for dinner and the bourbon chocolate pecan - strawberry rhubarb and mixed berry pies for dessert. They were all delicious - not a dud in the bunch - but the chicken pot pie and the strawberry rhubarb were blue ribbon winners! Definitely a must for pie enthusiasts in Denver
It's a nice place cozy feel to it the only thing I was going there for was sweet pies but they sell a lot a food pies not a lot of variety on sweet pies. would still recommend just don't go expecting a lot of variety.
We tried the Southwest quiche, Denver quiche, slice of Blueberry pie, a latte, and an iced chai. Everything was fantastic! Would highly recommend!
Great view and good variety of pies. Love the coffee/bar options too!
I like it. The sweet & savory pies are good. The pumpkin pie is simple but really yummy. I also thought the salted caramel apple even if salted caramel is a bit played out at this point was exceptional. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like apple pie. I've had two savory pies: One was a coconut curry ? And I thought it had lots of flavor. My favorite though was this bratwurst picnic pie...? I don't remember the name. I just thought it was really good. They do have breakfast which I've never had as well as a small bar. The staff always seem a bit harried to me. And as with many places along Colfax you may find prices a little steep. It's also worth noting it's a very cute space. The scene isn't for everyone. You can tell that some of the crowd is here strictly to hang and order $7 latte's.
The food is excellent, I often have quiche for breakfast when I go and commonly buy a large chicken pot pie to feed several and they are always great. I'm not a big sweet pie person but the lemon blackberry was surprisingly good and anything with apples that they make is amazing. Friendly staff, good coffee. I have to budget for this place, though, since it's a little expensive, and consider it a treat rather than a regular stop.
We wanted to love this place but unfortunately it fell way short. We ordered the chocolate chess pie and the apple cinnamon mini's. The chocolate pie was hard as a rock and tasted like the burnt end of a pan of brownies from the box. The middle was hollow and the crust was flavorless and it tasted stale. When we asked why our pie was hollow they explained that is how it was supposed to be. I am no expert but isn't the whole point of a pie a delicious filling and delicious crust? They did replace the mini chocolate pie which was appreciated but it was still hard and stale. The apple was good but after tasting the chocolate anything would have tasted better. The birthday cake ice cream was the star of our experience. Too bad. The atmosphere was nice and the workers seemed friendly enough. Will probably not go back.
Fun place- I ordered medium caramel apple pie. Cute little pie. Crust was good - not great. Good caramel. Apples aren't peeled though- I know Martha Stewart makes hers that way but yuck! Cost was decent - $8. Other pies might be better.
First time here, ordered the Chicken Pot pie it was alright. I'd recommend going for the Happy Hour drinks.
