The Idaho Painter offers free DIY & professional painting and home improvement videos, blogs, and tips on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram & Pinterest.
My name is Chris Berry and I produce painting DIY videos. Think you cannot paint? You can! The Idaho Painter serves YouTube viewers with free self help painting videos. I created The Idaho Painter, an alternative to to big box DIY video shows that have actors who only act like they can paint but really can barely act.
My mission is to shatter the barriers of entry into painting and convince people that it can be a lot of fun painting on your own without hiring a professional painter. No experience is necessary. You don’t need to buy expensive painters tools or materials. Every day I hear from men and women on my channel who are discovering it is not all that scary nor hard to paint or use those big scary paint sprayers.
I believe painting is for everybody. The Idaho Painter is becoming the most popular and fastest growing DIY painting channel on YouTube with well over 91,000 subscribers.

17 years ago I stumbled upon this incredible trade, painting. I invested in my first sprayer, and began this unbelievable journey. The only problem was that there was nowhere to go to learn, we don’t have trade schools in our area. So I had to figure everything out for myself through trial and error. Because of this I have had the opportunity to try out various tools and techniques, and learn how to come up with the best end result. I am all about working smarter, not harder, while still getting a high quality finish. And everything I do is centered on that idea. What I can do to get the optimum product, while still making the most profit and satisfying my fantastic customers. Because at the end of the day, that’s what I love most about this job. My job is literally to make people happy and that in itself is an astonishing thing. Eventually I started making these videos on YouTube, because I wanted to share what I learned with other self taught painters who were also learning one job at a time. This has turned into what we now know as Paint Live TV at youtube.com/idahopainter. Never in a million years did I think these tips and tricks would turn into this giant platform that we have today across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. But we are so honored to get to be here with you! We love continuing to learn and share what we have learned. So please feel free to add to the content by commenting or sending us a message. We’d love to hear from you!
