Love the Lake House. My partner and I find ourselves reminiscing this getaway of ours so often. We visited in March when it was in the middle of a winter storm, so it was really quiet when we went, but we absolutely loved it. The property was incredible, and all the amenities and activities available are endless. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't want to leave. The downtown is pleasant during the day but quiet at night. They have a local wegmans which was open till late night. The only downfall was that I found my stay at the Lake House to be very pricey. We weren't expecting a cheap stay, but the fees that were added to each night stay were PRICEY. We had a wonderful experience and would go, but just be aware and don't be fooled by their promos .
I went back and forth about writing a review but here we go. We were welcomed by a very friendly doorman, offered complimentary champagne. The lobby and common areas are stunning, very light and airy. Unfortunately, when we walked in our hotel room I went to use the restroom and it smelled heavily of urine. There was feces on the toilet paper as well. We called down to the front desk and the woman at the front desk was incredibly apologetic and we were moved to a new room. Unfortunately, it set the tone for the rest of the trip and I couldn’t really shake the experience. There is a nice outdoor patio, pool, fire pits and a beautiful view of the lake. We got a breakfast package and ate at the rose tavern and the food was very good, the waitstaff was attentive and kind. Gratuity was included per the fine print when we booked the package but when we got the bill there was a space for gratuity as well which was confusing and we had to verify if it was included or not. At the price point for the stay I would expect more amenities and certainly not the experience we had with the first room. As beautiful as that view was I don’t think we would be back.
Our reservation for 7 was ready when we arrived. Although we were disappointed that they were out of brussel sprouts, each of our dinners were excellent, although very pricey. Two of us split a Caesar salad and the pork chop, which was more than enough for two. The pork chop was delicious and perfectly grilled. One person in our party had dietary restrictions and the waiter was very knowledgeable about gluten free menu choices. We ordered several appetizers to share. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed the entrees we chose.
Spacious rooms and clean. But super expensive for what you get. The room listing subtly mentioned “City View”. What this means is full on parking lot view. Half of the expensive rooms here look onto a giant, ugly parking lot. Half look onto the water. Maybe the even more expensive water view rooms would be worth it, but the parking lot view rooms are WAY overpriced at $400/night off season mid week. Before you stay here, ensure you are not getting the parking lot view!
A beautiful property with nice rooms. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and outside fire pit. We were only there one night so couldn't participate in more of the activities. If we come back, we would stay two nights.Rooms: 4/5
We had a fantastic three days. The renovations done in 2020 look great. Our room was large and the King Size bed was super comfortable. The first night we had dinner at the Rose Tavern. The service and the food were both excellent. The sunroom porch area was nice but the acoustics made it very loud. The indoor room was much quieter. Lunch on the first day was at the dockside Sand Bar. We spent the first morning and most of the second day at the pool. The hotel wasn't full so no issues getting a lounge. You can get a drink or food poolside. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. If I had a negative, the hotel is right beside a marina so you get a view of the docks and boats, and this end of the Lake is shallow and muddy. No swimming in the lake here.
We wanted a romantic weekend and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in both the Sand Bar and the Rose Tavern was excellent. The hotel was very clean with beautiful views of the lake. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Worth every cent in our opinion.Rooms: 5/5
This was a place where everyone came. It was fun with family and friends. All were welcome. The new owners are from NYC and have clearly made it understood that only the rich may come. I will never go there again. There is a new hotel down the street that made us feel welcome. We stayed the night and had a really good time. The food was amazing and the service was great. AND they welcome everyone
This is an absolutely perfect location, the lake is gorgeous and the scenery breathtaking, but the experience left me disappointed after traveling from Tennessee to the Finger Lakes area. I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting this destination that I can only describe as a complete disappointment. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with subpar service and lackluster amenities that left me questioning why terrible destination. First and foremost, the accommodation looked elegant. The room I was assigned to was cramped, hot, and uncomfortable in every way. The bed was uncomfortable and impossible to get a good nights rest, the linens were rough, the chairs were hard to sit in, even for a short time. It felt like stepping back in time to the 80’s in a mediocre hotel. To add insult to injury, the food at the on-site restaurant was absolutely abysmal. The menu was limited and overpriced. The service in the restaurant was slow and disinterested, with waitstaff who seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of their customers. It was a truly disappointing culinary experience that left me longing for even the most basic of fast-food joints. In conclusion, I cannot caution strongly enough against visiting this vacation destination. From the overpriced accommodation to the lackluster amenities, it was a complete waste of time. Save yourself the disappointment and choose a different destination that truly values its guests and strives to provide a memorable vacation experience. It was so disappointing that we moved to the local Holiday Inn, which was so much more a pleasant experience!!
This place!! Wow! They remodeled it in 2020 & it's all very new & clean & beautiful! It has a very upscale & luxurious feel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake & pool area. The whole campus lodging, 2 restaurants, pool, hot tub, promenade, docks, coffee bar, event hosting areas, spa, relaxing areas, games, etc is stunning. It is pricey but if you book off season it's more reasonable. Everything is made of quality items & they use sustainable earth friendly materials as well. Just in love with this place. Room service was wonderful as well, service was excellent, food was great. Would go back any day.
