We finally returned to the Cape after the Canada/USA border was closed 2+ years due to covid and were so happy to see that Chef Shrimpy and The Jerk Cafe were still in business. The burritos are soooo good that we ordered extra to bring back to Montreal!! Cape Cod is known for great seafood but the authentic Jamaican cuisine at the Jerk Cafe is definitely a must try!!
We got the ribs and a couple burritos steak & pork. The flavor of both were amazing, I say try everything but don't miss out on these ribs! This is a very friendly atmosphere and Chef Shrimpy puts his positive attitude and soul into the flavor of the food - I highly recommend you check this place out, you might even be lucky enough to hear Chef Shrimpy singing along to the reggae beats. Enjoy!
I got the Jerk Chicken, which was very good. I don’t think a Jerk Chicken lunch needs to be $19, but that is my only complaint. The food was great though, and the food came out quick with good service.
It had been awhile since I've been to the Jerk Cafe. I'm very pleased that it has not changed. Every meal I've had there has been delicious. I particularly like the chicken vegetable wrap. The Jerk Cafe is the definition of hidden gem.
I was looking for something quick as I was heading to a service call so I called The Jerk. Absolutely DELICIOUS burrito! This is the type of place I love!! A small little shop like a hidden gem! I highly recommend this place!! Vegetarian options: I believe I saw a vegetarian burrito option
Chef Shrimpy and his authentic jerk food are definitely a must try if you come down to The Cape. I've only been to Cape Cod a few times but ever since I decided to check out The Jerk Cafe it's a guaranteed stop anytime I'm around. The jerk pork is so tender it will fall apart just by looking at it. Not only does Chef Shrimpy make amazing food, he's got an amazing attitude. He sings, he dances, and he does a lot to give back to his community. Truly an experience every time you go to The Jerk Cafe. You'll never be disappointed
First time trying. I gave it 3 star because of its presentation. This is not orginal jerk chickenfood its has been modified to please the locals in that part of town. Needles to say It wasn't up to my as expectation for jamaican food. you can not always believe phantom gourmet. The chef was nice.
Yum yum yummmmmm! Best burritos, best tropical smoothie and banana frittata. Delish.
I love Jamaican food, and while visiting Cape Cod I was happy to see they have a fair number of Jamaican restaurants. This particular one caught my eye because of the nice backstory on it's chef, Chef Shrimpy. I was really excited to meet him and try his food. But I was disappointed when I got there. He was there with one other person. When we came in he was just reading a newspaper and he wouldn't even look at us. The other person took our order and didn't seem very friendly. Then she went over to him and gave him our order. He made the food and then gave it to her to give to us. Their jerk chicken was good. It was interesting because it was a sliced chicken breast instead of bone-in meat like other places. And the portions were good as well. It was also interesting that they didn't sell ting or ginger beer only American drinks and I didn't see any beef patties, although I didn't ask if they had any.
Went there yesterday for the first time not Jamaican food at all that's not jerk that chicken is plain with too much sauce over it. I was looking for that heat that real jerk comes with but this is not it all as a Jamaican myself I know what real jerk is I was very disappointed I had to throw my food away plus the rice and peas didn't have any flavor I will never go back there.
