Excellent and time tested restaurant - 20+ years. The owner and chef has an amazing set of skills. The food is made from many local ingredients and tastes fresh! Come here for the great food and stay for the atmosphere. The outside seating under the trees or the heated indoor solarium is great in the winter. Hard to find but very highly recommended!
We have never been disappointed. From the crisp and tasty potstickers, to juicy curries, sesame cookies, and fresh local vegi stir fries, there's something there for everyone. Great atmosphere and a real taste of island culture. We also got to taste their delicious catered food at a wedding last year, here are a few pics from the hors d'oeuvre's. Couldn't recommend more!
Vegan and veggie ramen are delicious with different veggies. Coconut broth almost like Tom Kha! Service was incredibly slow, we waited about 10 mins in between each dish, and our small plate came at the end. Well-tended garden seating featuring a large Willow, with unfortunate work on road /asphalt truck contributing to noise and smell.
This place looked hopeful, but man, I left very disappointed. My noodle dish was nearly $20, and didn’t even have that much food on it, and had almost no flavor at all. I had to put on soy sauce AND chili garlic sauce to make it flavorful, something I’ve never had to do with an Asian dish. My wife’s soup was okay, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the atmosphere here is cool, but it’s way to expensive for the level of service and food they put out. Won’t be coming back.
This place was overpriced. They did not give very much meat for how much the 1 soup bowl which was 20$. The wait was over an hour after you ordered. They did not have to go spoons which frustrating in a tourist town. I did not Try the plate, but my friend liked the flavors. The pho though was not very flavor full and they were out of Udon noodles, and most of the bowl was filled with veggies not any real protein. If you need something fast and filling don’t go here, but they do a great job of making it look beautiful.
Thai coconut Ramen with tofu and veggies was excellent. Light flavorful. Eggs cooked nicely. BBQ Korean bun was pretty good as were the pot stickers. Sauces that accompanied were less to our liking.
Lovely outdoor cafe in Eastsound. If you’re on orcas island definitely check this place out for fresh, healthy dishes. The rice plate was very customizable and tasty. The shrimp and salmon rice places were definitely the highlights for me. Service was friendly and the ambience was top notch!
Waited 75 minutes for a burrito and a small side of fries. It was 1pm on a Friday on a beautiful day, so it was a little busier and that's understandable. Estimated wait time was "30 minutes" when we ordered. Except.... The 2 tables AFTER us got their food before us. My friends & I murmured to ourselves, "...I think they forgot about us..." to which the passing server said loudly, "I DIDNT FORGET ABOUT YOU!" With A LOT of attitude and loud enough for the entire patio 12-15people to hear. : : : 5 minutes later, the server comes back to ask, "okay, what did you guys have?" Never apologized. And we waited another 5 minutes. The food is actually good and met expectations. But, so not done during busy hours. The staff become hostile.
Wasn't sure what to expect but was SO delighted by my meal. Everything we got was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend
Super tasty local-centric Asian inspired menu. Szechuan pork is a favorite with locally produced pork, as well as Potsticker special with your choice of sauce, try the Peanut lime miso. Fresh seasonal veggies steamed and sauteed to perfection, soups, and shrubs, yum! Good place for kids, vegans, and gf diets. Everything cooked to order, good food takes time so don't be in a hurry.
