The Kugel Collaborative is a dynamic art gallery space in the heart of Center City!
The Kugel Collaborative: A Jewish Student Arts Space (located at 1544 South Street) opened its doors in February 2012 and became the only exclusively student Jewish art gallery in the country! The gallery is a project of the Chabad House for Students of the Arts, a local non-profit that provides Jewish programming for Center City's arts and music schools (University of the Arts, PAFA, Moore College, Curtis Institute, etc...). The gallery serves to explore the expression of Jewish identity through the arts and create dialogue (i.e. shmoozing) between the students and those who view their artwork. Every exhibition is curated by the students and Rabbi Daniel and Reuvena Leah Grodnitzky, co-directors of the Chabad House. Featured exhibitions have included: The Art of Joy, Passover at Chagal's Seder Table, and A Philadelphia Expose.
The gallery has hosted events as diverse as wine & cheese receptions, poetry readings, art openings, celebratory dinners and gatherings of all types!
