Here to complain about one little thing: though I will say this all comes from quite a while back. Came here a few years ago for an excruciating pain in my wrist and was told it was because of a ganglion cyst and that I should just take paracetamol for the pain. The main reason I want to complain is that I now have a lot of pain in BOTH of my wrists because it was definitely not a ganglion, but instead repetitive strain injury which I have actually been worsening over time due to incorrect advice. I will point out, I probably should have sought a second opinion.. but at 18 I didn't know better and its not like its easy to get GP appointments anyway. Now upon looking at any videos or photos or real life examples of a ganglion cyst, I honestly don't know how this conclusion was drawn in the first place when I clearly showed none of the signs. Pros: The pharmacy being right there is supeerrr practical. From what I remember the overall booking system was pretty well organised, though this may have changed since COVID-19 read other reviews for that info.
Moved to the are 9 months ago. Had 2 appointments in one day, WHY!!!! . All because he did not want to discuss my other problem,so 7 hrs later, same doctor but missed call as they don't give you a time like my other surgery which was cheshire.... also was not listening.. RECEPTIONIST on the other hand is unconsiderate, ubrupt, do not listen even though its there job to help,, even though I'm crying as its all frustrating and I need help and have no communication skills with people..what hurt the most is the smirky comments and the whispering like two faced people do..extremely unpleasant feeling you get of these women. pretty nasty disgusting behaviour. I'm just appalled at this surgery its shocking behaviour.....be warned!!
Avoid, blood test was taken incorrectly, had pain in my arm for 3 days. I specifically asked the nurse: "Did you take enough blood?" "Yes, don't worry". Two days later They ring that she didn't and can I come in again. She shaved multiple patches of my hair and than told me the machine does not work cause of the battery not beeing charged. Last 13 years I have paid thousand of pounds in National Insurance and end up going private in Manchester or back home since it cheaper and better. Also taxi medical 140 pounds, few years ago was 30 pounds for a stamp. Thieves They are not here to help you, I know more about homrmones and neurotransmitter by know, sacrilege.
The service is absolutely unclassifiable. I had called the office to make an appointment for my little son who is a couple of months old. To this The receptionist has told me a Doctor would call me back soon. About half an hour later a doctor called me back and told me that cannot examine my baby until we do the Covid 19 test and the result is negative. He prescribed antibiotics for him for safety without to check him. This is unacceptable to me because we are not talking about an adult but a baby. The way this viral situation is handled in healthcare is unacceptable.
My wife and I had a fantastic experience here. We were travelling from Australia and both had the flu. The administration were fantastic and arranged for us to be seen that day. The doctor was extremely helpful and pleasant. It would almost be worth getting sick again to experience the quality of care!
I was a patient at this practice for many years and was extremely satisfied with the care I received until the long-standing, traditional partnership arrangement was terminated and a Leeds-based business called The One Group took over. The new owners seem unable to recruit full-time doctors. They are relying, almost entirely, on temporary locum staff with the result that patients very rarely see the same doctor twice and the temporary doctors are unfamiliar with the medical histories of the patients, with potentially dangerous consequences. Indeed, discontent has been so widespread that at least 300 patients, myself included, have transferred out of this practice as standards continued to decline. The general suspicion is that, in future, many businesses will buy into general practices with an eye more to profit than patient care. The public can be forgiven for believing that politicians intend to privatise the NHS. Such a pity. Windermere Health Centre used to have an enviable reputation: so much so that when rare staff vacancies arose there would be hundreds of doctors applying to join the partnership, whereas now there seem to be none.
Karen on the admin team is very helpful and polite. They are busy but they help as well as they can. I have moved now, but feel lucky to have had such good service while I lived locally. Thank you.
To counter Jonathan Ward’s adverse comment below I must first declare an interest, I am Chair of the Windermere Health Centre’s Patient Participation Group PPG. The company which bought in to the WHC was One Medical Group and not as stated by Jonathan Ward. This was because partners wanted to retire and the partnership model was not sustainable, as with very many GP Practices in England, no interested replacement GPs applied as being a partner with its added responsibilities is no longer attractive. The current status is there is a new sessional excellent male GP and regular locum male GP, plus other occasional locums. The practice is seeking another sessional GP, preferably female. The practice is supported by excellent Advanced Nurse Practitioners and recently been rated GOOD by CQC.
The staff here work really hard and are very patient and kind, they also have some amazing Nurses but the only let down is the lack fo regular GPs. Again the staff do their best and deserve a massive thank you for what they do.
The worst doctors I have ever has the misfortune of experiencing. They've given me the WRONG PRESCRIPTION several times in the course of a year. The waiting time is rediculous and the staff have a terrible attitude
