Lynn S. Laffoon, principal attorney at the Law Office of Lynn S. Laffoon, received her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2006. After passing the bar, Ms. Laffoon practiced at the law firm of Crouch, Spangler and Douglas in Harrisonville, Missouri, before opening her own law office in January of 2012. Prior to her law career, Ms. Laffoon worked as a journalist in community newspapers after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism in 1987.
Primarily a transactional attorney, Mrs. Laffoon works with clients in Cass County in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, elder law, business acquisition, real estate transactions, LLC formation and 501(C)(3) not-for-profit formation and compliance. An accomplished public speaker, Ms. Laffoon has given seminars on wealth transfer and asset protection.
Ms. Laffoon currently serves as legal counsel for the Harrisonville Public School Foundation and the Bright Futures Advisory Board. Civic involvement includes: past-secretary of the Missouri Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, past-president of the Cass County Historical Society, Treasurer of Hope Haven of Cass County, Inc. a domestic violence and sexual assault shelter, president of the Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce and past-president of the Harrisonville Rotary Club. Ms. Laffoon lives and practices law in Peculiar, Cass County, Missouri, and occasionally plays golf.
