Excellent community resource with very helpful staff and extensive collections. The programs are also excellent. The building is fully accessible on the side with elevator access to the rest of the building. There is a very large children's room downstairs and interesting architecture in the formal entrance. Check out the history room for an abundance of Pepperell and local history. Plenty of parking and there is a convenient and fully accessible nature trail behind the library. Overall, a great place to relax, enjoy your favorite reading and learn about the community. They also have a beautiful community Christmas tree lighting every year.
The Lawrence Library, Pepperell's town library, is small but beautiful. The reading room is especially nice, with great light and comfy chairs. There's free wifi and several PCs for public use, and the librarians are really helpful.
This is a fantastic library with many, many programs, a wonderful collection, great staff. My kids love going there!! The building is really cool too.
Actually I did not go inside. We were watching the Pepperell 4th of July parade on June 25th. Who knew?
I was impressed to find two of my favorite books almost immediately. The library has a very relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful building and also seems to have a lot of cool and creative events going on which are posted throughout the library. I find it calming and relaxing to sit in a comfortable chair there with a book of fiction or poetry and zone out. Can’t wait to take my son to check out the kids section.
Great selection of books . Our son loves to read . The staff there is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I like the other events they do there too. Thank you!!!
Beautiful library with dedicated, knowledgeable staff. My mother-in-law, Beverley Camp, was Director of the Lawrence Library for over 20 years and loved her job, staff, and that building immensely. Great children’s program, as well as interesting architecture and artifacts too! ~Sharon Hughes
Well organized & beautifully decorated piece of pepperell history. Wonderful, friendly staff. They have new events each month & almost all of them are free. I spend quite a lot of time here due to the wonderous things they offer. They get new books & movies all the time. & they have a great selection of audiobooks. Lovely children's section, great for bringing your kids on a rainy day or just whenever. They even hold free concerts sometimes. There's always art in the gallery. Where else can you go rent movies for free?! & the late fees are reasonable. They also have a great free app where you can check your account & renew things that you have checked out with one click!
Great library friendly and helpful staff. But mother be weary if you go to an event alot of the other parents were rude if they knew you were a single mother. Reason why I stopped going to groups. Other wise amazing staff and the nostalgia is great!
Almost every week during WWII, my grandmother Lena Ramsey sent her then only five young children, aged 4 to 11, to this special free library with her list of books. Her children walked that mile, happily, from the house hauling a little wooden sided wagon, ready to carry their mum's books in any kind of weather. They were allowed to pick one book each, for the privilege, and they never missed a chance to add a treasure to the wagon. They passed their joy of reading and exploring libraries on to everyone they ever met, and to their beloved children, nieces, nephews grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I would love to see Lena Ramsey's library card list! And here's a secret - you should know, Pepperrell, MA... that Sybil Blood Ramsey, local poet of notoriety, is a relative of Lena Ramsey. It's true. You should read about that. ; -
