I literally LOVE Port Washington Public Library. The atmosphere is so relaxing, people so welcoming and you can study in a really peaceful place. I really appreciate their ESOL - English courses which is a big opportunity for au pair. I enjoyed my English course with Peter, he is an amazing teacher! Thank you for all you do!
Beautiful library, lots of table space to spread out a project. A little loud, glad I brought headphones or it would have been hard to focus. Selection of newspapers from around the world was a nice surprise, as was the coffee bar.
Phenomenal library - our son loves the children’s library. He would let us know which books he was reading in school and ask us to borrow it from the library. The staff is also always super friendly and helpful
Super friendly staff. Very happy to assist. Library was extremely organized. I loved the terrace overlooking the harbor. Great place to enjoy a good read and a cappuccino.
We go there quite often as they have the bestest children's section. The upgrades done to that are so amazing that all of my friends and family who live elsewhere show willingness to visit this library whenever they visit us. Staff is helpful and friendly. They have various sections at different floor and huge collection of books for each age group. Kids section has various activities for kids indoor as well as a small custom garden with interactive things has been designed beautifully to enjoy during good weather days. Love this place and glad to have access to it in our neighborhood. Would definitely recommend!
Great library. One of the places I like best in Port Washington. Nice staff .Super helpful & friendly and helpfulwith the exception of 2 or 3 admin/ management staff. There are 4 floors in the library and each offers something special. The 2nd floor has a roomy quiet area with lots of comfy chairs & sofa's as well as an outdoor deck area with a great view of Port Washington. There's also a teen room, a children's section which is quite separate from the quiet area's, a terrific business center , a cute gated garden open seasonally & the lobby recently added a new coffee machine that makes espresso, cappuccino, hot chocolate & more. The library often has events such as music, movies and town meetings which are open to all. The music is a fun event. The lower lever features new art work every month or two & there's always an interesting quality display of talent. Just go visit the library- you won't be disappointed !
I'm partial to my favorite library. Growing up it was the, Manhasset Public Library. Recently, due to unexpected events. I needed a private study room, the Port Washington library, provided what I needed. The librarians were extra nice. They reserved the study room, I was there for two hours. Really appreciated the efforts. Go upstairs and outside, The library has an outstanding view of NYC. Entering and exiting the bathroom door proves challenging for wheelchair bound persons. Not as many computers as other librarians. Great reference dept.
I live for 20 years in this city I was using the computer I went out to receive a call and one of the people told me that I could not speak there I felt discrimination just because I was Hispanic
This is the LOUDEST LIBRARY EVER. I never write reviews, but the absurdity of this noise inspired me to write this. There are people playing drums, bass guitar with amp, and blasting music while shouting into a microphone INSIDE the library. You can hear it from every part of the library, even with noise-cancelling headphones and earplugs in. It's been going on for hours now. I've seen bars and parties quieter than this. Absolutely cannot read or study inside of this library!!!
The teachers and everyone are so nicely. They help you whatever you need. The installation is very good and have a lot of activities
