We found a romantic dinner spot. Its a very unique culinary experience. This is a french steakhouse, ooh lala lol. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves tonight. Our server Senatra Johnson was very bubbly and enthusiastic. Pleasant with everyone. Had a good knowledge of the menu .Food: 5/5
WOW is the best word to describe our very first experience dining at The Library Restaurant!! It truly is a dining experience, as some of the food is prepared table-side. Senatra made our experience so special. We felt like we were at a good friend’s house & they were making us dinner. She loves what she does and it shows! The food was delicious, too. Some of the food items we would recommend are the Caesar salad, the Steak Diane, the Duck L’Orange, the Chicken with artichokes & mushrooms and the Bananas Foster. This was by far one of our most favorite dining experiences in Myrtle Beach ever and we’ve been vacationing here for almost 15 years. We will definitely return next year.
Ryan is really a good server. The ambiance is also quite good. But the food is only average. Onion soup is a bit salty. She crab soup is a bit sweet.Food: 3/5
This restaurant fell short on almost everything other reviews raved about. It is attempting to take you to a French inspired bistro in a romantic setting but almost feels like an overused theme park needing big renovations. The menu is a scroll which is constantly rolling up on you and has grease and oil marks all over it…why? The tables are close which is fine, but the ambiance doesn’t provide a private dining experience with the music choice contradictory to the overall atmosphere. Music genre/volume provided more distraction than enjoyment. Tables are spread apart but orientation provides no privacy in the attempt to make it an upscale experience. Waiters are friendly and will tell you the specials over a 5 minute no exaggeration speech. The cocktails were awful, I had the library martini. Had about half before I gave up. For the food, it is expensive to the point of just being expensive. Nothing our table ordered was remotely worth the cost. Plates need either a quality adjustment or a price adjustment. Portion size was appropriate in a good way, this was the only positive. Enjoy trying for yourself, I won’t say don’t go, just prepare to be underwhelmed if you’re expectations are upscale, fine dining experience. Or if you’re expecting a French bistro fare in a romantic setting. Or if you’re expecting a $79.95 steak to taste as such. Or expecting a classic martini to taste balanced and smooth.
I was highly disappointed. We went there to celebrate our new engagement, spent over $500 for 2 of us and left unsatisfied. The food had no seasoning at all. The steak was cooked perfectly but again not seasoned. The trio appetizer was over priced and had no taste. The duck was flavorful and all around a good dish. With so many good restaurants in the area I don't think I would visit this restaurant again.
Had a wonderful night with my sweetheart. Food and atmosphere was excellent. The enthusiasm of our server, Senatra, was outstanding. We look forward to many more wonderful visits to the special restaurant, the most romantic restaurant in all of Myrtle Beach. Would love to see Beef Wellington on the menu. The piano bar, 88 Keys, next door was the perfect cresendo to a perfect romantic evening.
My wife and I have wanted to eat at The Library for many years. We recently did, and what a fabulous experience. Our server, Senatra, definitely helped make our dining experience one to remember. From our deliciously crafted cocktails, to table side tossed Cesar salad, and Steak Diane she did a great job. We will definitely dine there again on our next visit to Myrtle Beach!
This one is a hard review . I very rarely give negative feedback unless I feel like it's something that future customers should know. I had such high expectations and was really looking forward to having some good French food . Unfortunately the beef carpaccio was a little bit clunky. Way too thickly sliced and came out at room temperature with chunks of RAW white onions. The French onion soup lacked onion. I'm not sure how but it tasted of beef bullion cubes. The lamb for dinner was very bland and very unevenly cooked no salt and no sauce. The service I will say was impeccable. Probably some of the best service I have ever received.
Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. Everything was perfection. Server Brian was awesome.Food: 5/5
Started with the Feta and Pesto with garlic bread which was phenomenal, I had the French onion soup, my girlfriend had the Vinaigrette Salad which were both delicious. Entrees we had the Chicken chardonnay and the Filet and Lobster. The steak was insanely tender, lobster was melt in your mouth and the chicken had a perfect zing of lemon without being too overpowering. Best drink was the peach mango mojito for sure. Definitely a must go.
