This is a beautiful park with wooded areas and some big fields. Some walking trails were paved with asphalt and some were not. All trails were clearly marked and very easy to walk on. There is an equestrian center there too with a lot of jumps that could be set up for horses, as well as a big barn and stalls. There is a new lodge building which is very large and looks very nice. There was a private event on the Saturday afternoon that we were near there, so we could not peek in the windows. The entire park is sparkling clean. Well done. Restrooms: We were at 2 different parking lots near 2 different entrances and there were restrooms at both places. Dog-friendliness: There were a few people walking their dogs on leashes. Picnic area: There were a few picnic tables and a grill. There were several benches to sit on all along the trails.
I love this little park. I came across it when I was trying to find something that was more of a relaxing walk rather than a hike. Also wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hinckley and Whips Ledges. I came in through the West entrance. There are four different trails that criss cross through this park. The inner loop is paved, the outer loop is a combination of dirt and grass. Several man-made bridges and steps will keep your walk interesting. All throughout the trails there are plenty of benches to sit and experience the wildlife. Mostly birds such as American goldfinch, Black crows, Swifts and Hawks can be seen. On the East entrance there is a 1.8 mile Bridal Trail to navigate.
This is a quaint little park. Plenty of parking, picnic areas and a port a potty. Paved, grass and dirt trails. After days of rain, they were surprisingly not muddy! Scenic and woodsy. Easy hiking. There are some stairs on a couple trails, but nothing crazy. Easy to avoid by sticking to the outer loopblue, I think Very pleasant and well maintained.
It's a nice park to go for a short walk and have a great time walking around the park
This is a beautiful little park with well maintained trails to walk on. While I didn't get to explore the whole place what I did see was enough to convince me to go back again soon for another hike. Lots of wooded areas and a little stream to look at and keep cool in the shade. There's a nice little meadow with a beautiful view. Great place for weddings and photography.
The view of the autumn trees from the look-out/overlook/ top of the big hill is AMAZING. There are some nice Neches and big rocks to sit on to enjoy the view! The paths themselves are very pretty and calming. A quiet stream, some bridges, pretty steps, pebble paths, paved paths, grass paths, big hills, grassy fields, pollinators grasslands, a fishing pond, it's all here!
Allardale Lodge has a great sledding hill, got some shots, really fast hills.....just a great place with trails and a staircase back to the top....worth the ride, and a spectacular autumn day is equally amazing, Can't say more about this really great park Dog-friendliness: Great trails, with up and down hills with a creek flowing through, dog paradise
Beautiful park! A literal gem in the fall and a gorgeous hike. My only complaint would be being able to hear the highway. Love all the benches on the trails to sit and enjoy the nature!
Very nice trail. Combine the three trails for a longer hike. There are some steep steps on some of the trails, otherwise incline isn't bad
Nice variety of hills, woods, meadows, and streams to walk and enjoy. Saw a beautiful buck in velvet and two doe during our walk.
