We stopped in yesterday morning for what turned out to be absolutely the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to return…the wife had an omelette and I had the double deal which included two orders of gravy biscuits, two sausage patties and two eggs over easy. I promise you it’s the absolutely the best gravy ever.Recommended dishesBiscuits and Gravy
Perfect little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Food was great and home made. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant was cutely decorated! Our server was attentive even though she appeared busy. If you go there is absolutely no cell service just as a fair warning! It’s also attached to a little market and gas station for convenience.
We took my father-in-law out for lunch 95, he loved the hush puppies and the apples. Get the orange salad as a side!!!!! We live 30 minutes away but try to eat there every few months because the food is great, the staff are super friendly, and fast! No cell service, so put down your phones, relax, and chat. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp is on the right side, and I’m sure some friendly customer will hold the door for you.
Great spot for dinner in the hills. The last time I stopped in, I got a grilled chicken BLT but everything is good. That one pound burger is no joke, and the chicken fried steak is one of my favorites. Definitely try the fluffy orange salad for a side. They always have tasty, homemade desserts in the display case. The attached store has locally made baked goods for sale. I love the sourdough bread, fried pies, and honey. Stop by when passing through, and I promise you will not be disappointed. Parking: Big tricks and busses stop in with no issue.
We went in for the 1st time. No one told us to seat ourself and there was no sign to instruct us. We waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Finally after getting a booth it was another almost 10 minutes to get a drink. The had only 2 servers on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Foo was not the best. Service was horrible. Not a place I will visit again. Parking: The parking lot is for a coffee shop a gas station.. ice cream shop and restaurant.. it was horrible!
My Family and I ate breakfast here this morning for the first time. Nice restaurant and friendly staff. The home fries are cooked perfectly. My Momma really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. She said the gravy tastes just like how her mom made itmy Grandma My Husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. Everything is delicious. The portions are huge!
Located in volney, VA. Is part of a convenience store and gas station. About 15 minutes from Grayson Highland's state park. Have been stopping here for breakfast for the past 18 years when we are leaving Grayson Highland's.Food: 5/5
Absolutely charming small town restaurant, with a small, but eclectic little store & gas station. I like to think that this place is what the Cracker Barrel was like before it became franchised. It's one of those places you read about in small towns. All the locals know everyone that works there on a first name basis and they know that the older locals are there to talk about sports racing or gossip. We had breakfast there after camping at Grayson Highlands, and the pancakes & French toast was superb. Breakfast here after camping will how be a new family tradition for us. 10/10 Ps. The waitress [I forgot her name l, but she was cute, middle aged with short blonde hair] was very attentive and interacted with all her customers quickly. She was a perfect example of Southern Hospitality. Sweet tea wasn't sweet enough to give you instant diabetes, but it was still excellent
Atmosphere was good, service was good. Our filet and ribeye were ordered for "medium" but were served "well done" which greatly reduced the tenderness and flavor of the beef. We ate the dinner as it was served but I informed the waitress so the cook might be notified for the future. The waitress apologized and said the good cook was not working that evening.
Excellent food, excellent service, and a great place to gather after riding/traveling Rt 16 and Rt 53.Food: 5/5
