The Montessori School of Englewood is a Chicago Public Charter Elementary School that opened its doors in August 2012.
Located in the West Englewood community, The Montessori School of Englewood will be a growing school, adding one new grade level each year, eventually serving Kindergarten through eighth-grade.
The Montessori School of Englewood is an open enrollment, free public school for students living within the Chicago city limits. We operate on an extended year (August to June) and day (8:00-4:00) schedule.
We particularly encourage families in our local community to apply.
Enrollment forms are accepted on an ongoing basis, families will be placed on the wait list and will be notified if a space becomes available. A lottery is conducted each spring to determine admissions.
The Montessori School of Englewood will offer an alternative curricular approach to serve the diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, language, and educational backgrounds of students entering elementary school.
We believe that the best way of meeting the challenges of our diversity is via a proven educational curriculum committed to community involvement which leverages small student to teacher ratios to provide individualized attention.
