Great place. One of my favorite in VA beach. Very quiet beach, calm water, lots of hiking trails. Beautiful and tranquil. It is definitely worth paying the entrance fee to the park.
Great little hidden beach spot! Boat ramp is near by and you can pull it right up to the beach! Water is flat so great for watching little ones without worrying about the waves! It gets really busy so getting there early is recommended.
Excellent little beach for sail boarding and just general relaxation. A bit like Sandy Point Beach in Maryland on the Chesapeake, but nicer.
Came here to fish around the northern part here...I was hoping to catch red drum and Speckled trout..but didn’t catch anything..Maybe next time.. Nice views on a beautiful day
Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, no crowds during the week, no waves to knock you down, perfect!!
I always love this beach. No matter how many people are there you can always find your own section of beach. Super family friendly. Also the bay is always warmer than the ocean. You can also paddleboard or kayak here and the boats aren't supposed to wake. Great area.
The beach is nice but packed on weekends. Lots of jellyfish. Also they charge you $10 to get into the state park where this beach is located but you can't tell how crowded the beach is until after you pay the admission fee. Parking was a nightmare. I'd recommend going on a weekday and bring stuff to treat jellyfish stings.
This is a nice place to relax during the week if you want to get away from the windy days on the beach. There's bathrooms, bike/walking paths & a boat ramp. The cost to park/launch your boat is reasonable too.
Favorite local place to paddle board.
Nice, smaller area, with a narrow road leading to The Narrows limited parking; the beach is very nice! A boat launch area with ample parking lies beyond the beach area; keep going and turn right to reach it. This beach is a non-touristy area I am thinking a plus but, it may be necessary to pile in your vehicle and drive a ways back out of the "park" if a restroom is desired. There appeared to be a new facilities blockhouse under construction but, it was not finished and was roped off during our mid-June 2019 late afternoon visit. The sand was blowing on this beach, rather stiffly and a few jellyfish of uncertain potency were observed!
