Unique to the Hangar Hotel, The Officers' Club offers a place where hotel guests and visitors can relax and visit in the evening hours. The Club has a fireplace, grand piano, pool table, full bar, and unique leather lounge chairs. Ok - this hotel could be great, but isn’t. No food, no bar, no amenities. Absolutely great concept that falls flat. Rooms are fine but the smallest tv I’ve ever seen in hotel, mattress definitely needs to be replaced. Not sure how this place is still in business. Invest some cash, run shuttle to downtown, advertise and up the game! Could be great!
We had a great experience at the Hanger Hotel. Atmosphere was superb. If you are interested at all in WW2 history or the vibe of that time period you will love this place. The room was clean and everything worked. The staff were super cool, helpful, and just seemed like generally good people. There is a dinner on the property which was only opened 8am-2pm. We had breakfast twice and the food was great. Overall the stay was fun with lots going on Friday and Saturday night in the lounge. Drinks are reasonably priced. This place will defiantly be our go-to for lodging when we stay in Fredericksburg again.
Quite the novelty for an airport theme hotel, nestled in Fredericksburg, TX. What a treat it was to stay there. Our breakfast view was the landing strip, watching planes land and take off. Recommend it Rooms: 5/5
We loved this place. Everyone was so helpful and it’s just a fun place to stay. Love sitting outside watching the planes take off and land Willkie enjoying a local wine in their rocking chairs.Rooms: 5/5
THIS IS NOT RELATED TO THE HOTEL ITSELF BUT TO THE LOCATION ON GOOGLE MAPS. The address is correct, but the dropped pin associated with the location is misplaced way out at Boot Ranch on the opposite side of town, leaving Fredericksburg on Highway 965 towards Llano. I'm a Gate Guard at Boot Ranch and can confirm the Hangar Hotel is not out here. My advice is to type the listed address directly in as the 155 Airport Rd. That will take you to the airport and I believe the Hangar Hotel, although I've never been there. I will try to go on my off time and confirm this. Because honestly, I'm curious now, too. It looks like a neat place. I will notify the manager of the location issue while I'm there. I've also submitted a location edit here on Google Maps as well. I HOPE THIS HELPS AND SAVES PEOPLE TIME AND GAS. Noteworthy details: ACTUAL LOCATION
LOVE this place. When we go to Fredericksburg this is “our” hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and fun, with a 1940’s theme. The Officer Club bar always has great local music, the staff has always been happy and helpful. The adult-only limit is a real draw. There a period diner on-site with homemade food, we look forward to breakfast! Of course watching the airplanes come and go on the second floor patio, in rocking chairs is icing on the cake. Really nice place!
So fabulously 40's throughout and right next to the airport tarmac for additional aviation interests. The cafe there is absolutely fab.Rooms: 5/5
We were having a great time with 30 neighbors , about 24 stayed at the hotel. Saturday night came and we wanted to play pool and drink in the bar. A few men got drinks and started playing pool when the bartender laid her arm across the pool table and kicked them out. She said no playing while the music is playing. We left and our plans to make this trip a yearly thing ended. We will not go back. There are many other places to go than Hanger Hotel. Do not go unless you like getting the middle finger when you’re having fun.
Lovely room and hotel, very nostalgic and an experience on its own. Officers Club and Airport Dinner are charming and a must-see. The service was so friendly we felt like we were family!Rooms: 5/5
This restaurant came up in a foodie group a few times and we had to try it out. Our first impression was positive. The diner was immaculate and the airplane traffic was a bonus. Unfortunately, the waitress ruined the experience for us. She had a sour attitude with our table, got visibly upset when I asked for a straw, and she got my wife’s order wrong. That said, we still recommend checking out the diner at least once. Take your camera!
