We dined at the Old Mill Restaurant and had quite the culinary adventure. Our attentive and sweet waitress, Lee Ann, made us feel right at home despite the bustling atmosphere. Impressive enough, our meal was on our table within 15 minutes of ordering for our family of four – a remarkable feat considering the busy ambiance. To kick off our gastronomic journey, we were treated to a delightful surprise: complimentary Corn fritters with luscious maple butter. This appetizing start set the tone for what was to come – an array of tantalizing starters that left our taste buds dancing with delight. As the main course arrived, the spotlight fell on the chicken and dumplings. While the flavors were undeniably delicious, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by the portion size. What struck me as even more puzzling was that the kids' size was identical to the adult entree, all for a hefty $24.99. Thankfully, the Old Mill Restaurant redeems itself with the family-style sharing of sides, showcasing mouthwatering mashed potatoes and impeccably seasoned green beans that elevated the meal to a new level. The true crescendo of this culinary symphony came in the form of the Pecan pie – a slice of sheer perfection that would earn a solid 10 out of 10 from any dessert aficionado. Equally impressive was the Banana pudding, a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that left a lasting impression. And let's not forget the kids' ice cream, a delightful treat that added a playful touch to an already delightful dining experience. In conclusion, the Old Mill Restaurant proved to be a mixed bag of gastronomic delights. While some aspects, like the attentive service and delectable starters, stood out, the inconsistency in portion sizes and pricing left a slight bittersweet note. However, the spectacular desserts undoubtedly stole the show, making it a destination worth considering for those with a sweet tooth. This place is worth the wait! The atmosphere was inviting and cozy. The area was gorgeous and there were plenty of things to do while waiting to be seated. For instance go get a cocktail at the distillery next door! The wait staff were experts, extremely attentive, and welcoming. All of our food was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this experience.
First time in this restaurant and the service portion is huge. Staff was super friendly and very patient when explaining the menu. The restaurant inside is very comfortable and be aware that the food portion you’ll received is a lot. The waitress brought a variety of hot bread with maple butter, a soup, a salad, a drink, the main entree and a dessert. All of these it’s included in the main dish cost, and they even gave me a second portion of the chicken and dumplings to go. Definitely a must go in your bucket list while visiting Pigeon Forge.
One of the best restaurants you can visit in the area. They serve an insane amount of people so make sure you plan accordingly and they don’t take reservations. Delicious food with plenty of free appetizers. Loved their fried chicken breast super moist but took forever and their fried steak. Hearty and fulfilling Southern comfort food. Don’t worry about the line, they have speakers all over the area to let you know when it’s your turn.
I was trying to find a local place to have a nice meal and found this place! So glad we had the chance to try their food and enjoy the environment. You get the best corn fritters sort of hush puppies, but softer and less greasy upon arrival and all meals come with a cup of corn chowder. We had the broiled catfish, the top round beef, fried chicken and the chicken pot pie. My fish was fresh for sure, but had an earthy taste, not sure of this is because it came from a pond? Mashed potatoes and green beans -included in all meals as well, if you want different sides you need to ask your server- were delicious, and we all agreed that it was a great lunch. Service was absolutely amazing and prompt. I probably won’t have fish the next time I come to town, but I’m certain I’ll return to eat at The Old Mill.
Absolutely delicious! It was busy, but we didn’t have to wait for a table. The service is top tier! When you order an entree, it comes with a free bell of corn chowder, side salad or you can order another side, corn fritters made with maple syrup and a free dessert. The desserts are homemade! Each table gets a bowl of green beans and mashed potatoes served family style. You can also get other sides with your entree. The bathrooms are spotless. They accommodate everyone. There is an elevator for guests to use. They even have a lift in the dining area for people who have wheelchairs. This will make it easier for them to have access to the first floor dining area. All entrees are at least $20, but it’s definitely worth the price. They are not skimpy on portions either. Our food came out quickly as well!
We had about a 15 minute wait to be seated for our party of 3. The service was friendly and so attentive! We started with a house salad, corn chowder and biscuits. It was my first time eating corn chowing and automatically loved it. I ordered the chicken Fried chicken that came with a family serving of mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon. The chicken was juicy and tender. The sides were so good!! To top off the perfect feast the meal included a dessert of our choice. We all choose the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. It was rich, full of berries and just awesome!! So glad we came in for this feast! A great family environment with phenomenal food!
Very nice spot. Meals were delicious and very fast to get the food out. Also, for it being in a tourist trap type town the prices are very reasonable. Kids meals come with ice cream which was a nice little add on for the kiddos.Food: 5/5
There was a wait as there is a lot of places here in pigeon Forge. The time passed pretty quickly watching the ducks and geese. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. The food came out pretty quickly and was hot. Food was very delicious. we had large proportions sizes. The kids cheeseburger was very large. I recommend not eating to much biscuits and corn chowder or you won’t be able to eat your meal. I recommend eating here if you love southern style food. It’s won’t disappoint!!
I am amazed at how well this restaurant is managed! It is such a high traffic busy place but the staff are on top of it! The southern hospitality and happiness is contagious! Everyone was so kind and appreciative of our business! The restaurant was clean, organized, and had unique wooden decor. The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price! Our server was like superman! I couldn't believe how he was able to carry that heavy tray up in the air which was full of food! I would definitely return each trip to Pigeon Forge!
