Dublin, Georgia's "Old" Post Office, built 1911-1912
The Old Post Office in Dublin, Georgia has been a landmark for over 100 years. Construction began in 1911, and move-in day was August 2nd, 1912. James Knox Taylor was the Supervising Architect for the U. S. Treasury Department. Over the years it has also served as offices for the Laurens County (GA) government, a Federal Court, a pawn shop, a restaurant, and a private residence. It is currently being restored to its 1912 floorplan to be used for commercial office space.
