Dr. Durham and Dr. Soung offer a variety of services relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Services are provided in a friendly, caring environment utilizing state of the art equipment, and the latest techniques.
The practice was created by Dr. William M. Brown in 2006. It was founded on the principles of compassionate care, innovative techniques, and overarching love for patients and the community overall. In 2011, Dr. Christopher Durham joined the practice and continued the mission of excellent care of patients within the practice and service beyond just the office walls. Dr. Brown then retired in the summer of 2016 for medical related issues.
Later during 2016, the practice was re-branded to "The Oral Surgery Institute of the Carolinas." Dr. George Soung then joined the practice in July of 2017. Dr. Durham and Dr. Soung continue to uphold the high standards of the profession which they love and continue to give back to their communities beyond the walls of the practice.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires additional years of extensive hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Drs. Durham and Soung manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions with expertise ranging from surgical extraction of teeth, wisdom tooth removal, pre-prosthetic surgical procedures, and dental implant surgery (including state-of-the-art techniques for rebuilding bone structure to allow for successful implant placement with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort) to the diagnosis and treatment of oral and facial pathology, facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting, and are committed to ensuring that the treatment experience all of our patients receive is as pleasant and stress-free as possible.
