We stopped in for breakfast intending to carry out, but dined in. The place is definitely a throw back. The decor and restaurant layout is retro to say the least. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It served its purpose. However, the cherries that topped the pancakes were de...licious!! The highlight had to be the service. Our server Jill was great; very attentive and accommodating. We were visiting from out of state, so it's unlikely we will visit again. But if you live in the area, give them a visit and ask for Jill and have the cherry topped pancakes. You won't regret it.
This was our first visit and we enjoyed it very much. It is a comfortably quaint place that has been here for almost 50 years, which shows its staying power. They are open daily from 7 am to 2 pm. It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated immediately and had drinks delivered within a minute. Stephen was an excellent server. He was friendly and efficient; the food was very good, and I especially enjoyed my fried biscuit. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked, and the bacon and sausage were very flavorful. We will be back.
Great service, people, and food. The wait can get long, so a call ahead to verify wait time is a good idea. Definitely worth going too!Food: 5/5
I got the Sunrise Classic breakfast with the pancakes. I really enjoyed my food. The potatoes were good. The flapjacks were good too. I would visit again. My girlfriend got the Cheesecake pancakes and they were good. Had to ask for more sauce for a $2 charge.Food: 5/5
We split our items because it all looked so tempting! The veggie scramble with potatos was full of fresh mushrooms and peppers and loaded with Colby cheese. This came with 3 fluffy homemade pancakes which we took with us, as our second order was the Banana Bread French Toast! Thick pieces of banana bread were dipped in custard, glazed with maple, and topped with walnuts- what looked like half a loaf of bread - it was also too much to finish - we promise pics on our next visit - oh, and the coffee carafe was left at the table! Bring the family, bring everyone!
Very good breakfast spot, has a nostalgic feel to it. Everything seems home made. I had the Cinnamon Swirl Flapjacks and they were really good! Everything my family had was good.
We had a wonderful time in this cute retro breakfast spot. The food was amazing and the Circus Hot Coco was delish!!!Food: 5/5
Love the food here. Nice variety of breakfast options on the menu. I enjoyed the spicy biscuits & gravy with a bloody mary while my kids enjoyed some big breakfast burritos smothered with gravy. The boyfriend enjoyed an Albuquerque omelet with blueberry flap jacks. Love how they provide a pitcher of coffee on the table to be shared. Staff is very friendly and kind. Home-style atmosphere. Food came out fast, perfect temperature. Pricey but worth it. Highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: Waitress was kind and engaged in a short casual conversation with my children.
Our server Linda rocked it out! She was friendly, professional and on it. My first time here and it was much better than I expected. What a great gem of a local diner type eatery. Love the original looking bar and stools, and bonus! they offer mixed drinks and cocktails - I didn’t expect that. I will definitely revisit the original flap jack shack. Vegetarian options: Veggie scramble is perfect, delicious and completely hit the spot!
We go to Great Wolf Lodge every winter and eat here for breakfast once each trip. The service is probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. We tip quite a bit more than our normal 20-25% because it is always top-notch. The server also brings you a carafe of coffee so you're not ever without a full cup. The menu has several items, including various dessert-style flap-jacks, which I highly suggest trying. If you're not up for the full serving, try upgrading your side of toast that comes with your meal to a small order of one of these. Who doesn't love ice cream for breakfast? We had the Reeses Peanut Butter flap jacks upgraded my side of toast that came with my skillet to a half order of flap jacks and between 2 adults and 2 children, there was not one bite left photo proof submitted with this review! It was delicious!
