The Outdoor Program is a student organization focused on providing students with opprotunities to experience the outdoors and build an outdoor skill set.
We are a student led non-profit organization that leads groups on outdoor hikes and adventures. We offer many different types of classes, ranging from the 10 Essentials for camping, to Leave No Trace ethics, to all the mountaineering skills needed to climb Mt Rainier.
Our goals are:
• To enhance personal and group development by promoting compassion, understanding, and acceptance
• To rent outdoor equipment for individual pursuits
• To train and educate participants in principles of leadership and facilitation.
• To provide conservation opportunities and encourage environmental stewardship
• To provide trained facilitators to enhance group cohesion and communication
• To promote positive life styles that include personal care, physical fitness, and mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being
• To offer experiential learning opportunities that integrate with academic pursuits
• To equip outdoor leaders with the skills necessary to make sound decisions use quality judgment in their lives
Our trips are scheduled per quarter and can be viewed on our event section of this page, as well as on our website. Registration is located in the Constantino Recreation Center office on The Evergreen State College campus.
