Grew up here. Family came from all over California to stay here for Thanksgiving. Rooms are really nice. Food is great. Their Thanksgiving dinner is wonderful. They are very accommodating.Rooms: 5/5
We have booked a stay-cation for our upcoming wedding anniversary on December 13th. As we drove home from a friend's house a few nights ago, we decided to pop in for a little preview with a cocktail and a little bite to eat. The service, snacks and libations did not disappoint. We look forward to our stay in the Head Honcho suite and a soak in the Jacuzzi tub. I can't wait to see how the tub is filled from the ceiling. Stay tuned...
My husband and I stayed at this hotel. The service was terrible. The food was cold when we were served. Valet parking was a joke. Took 20 minutes to get our car. The room sheets were dirty. We asked for upper management we talked to the head of hotel operations Jennifer Johnson. Shé was rude to us. I cant imagine any company having people that don't have their businesses best interest with the customer's mind. We will never stay at this joke of a hotel. Shame on you Padre.
Probably gonna get some heat for this, but I used to work there. I wanted to because I thought it would be proper and the quality amazing. 1. ROACHES. They are everywhere, I open up a drawer to make food and they are literally crawling in the bacon, ham and bread. This place needs major renovation to get rid of them they are literally EVERYWHERE. I felt horrible serving food out like this. 2. Read the menu, we're major foodies here! We have a baker that makes amazing fresh baked bread only for us to freeze it to use later? Way to make something fresh and amazing frozen like a chain restaurant. 3. It's coin toss how you're foods going to come out. Half the cooks/chefs care and the others are there to get a check and push out the bare minimum quality. For the nicest place in town to work/eat I was massively disappointed. I could go on and on but these were the major points that stuck with me. Edit: Also, you have people you see pushing out exceptional quality and you need a new sous chef? What's the solution? Not promoting from within based on performance. Hire some random guy to come act like the boss and breathe down everybody's neck definitely not helping speed or quality when I have to look up to talk to you every 30 seconds new sous.
The Padre Hotel is located in downtown Bakersfield. It’s beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable with their lovely furnishings. There are 2 bars located inside the Padre. I’ve had some amazing experiences here.
The Padre is definitely the best place to stay in Bakersfield hands down. The room service is fast and friendly, as well as all other staff. Food is great, and they serve a fresh Bitburger non alcoholic beer.Rooms: 5/5
While the brunch menu at the Brimstone Bar inside The Padre Hotel was discontinued some time ago, we delighted in some all-day items at this happy visit. Our server Hanan was friendly and helpful, and she offered terrific advice for how our small group could better share Mimosa Flights with purées and bottles instead of only pre-mixed drinks. That turned out to be a lot of fun! For an appetizer, the Cauliflower Fritter was a welcome surprise and looked like a richer version of a well-seasoned hash brown at first, but while light and fluffy in texture, it was positively drenched in flavor. I already like cauliflower as a backdrop or a side, but I’ve never loved it this much! Highly recommended starter. The Chicken Pesto Panini sounded too good to pass up, with its roasted red pepper, mozzarella, and garlic aioli it comes with red onion, too, but the others sold me on trying it today. No regrets! My wife tasted it as well and can’t wait to have one of her own next time! We had so much good food at our table that we brought some home for later, and we all had a marvelous experience.
VERY disappointed in the customer service and the quality of the Suite. The ceiling in the room leaked so much water we had to use a coleman cooler to catch the solid stream of water. The staff was unavailable and the maintenance worker wasn't qualified to handle the problem, the front desk was unreachable by phone and there was no manager available, mind you this was an expensive room at a cost of over $325.00 per night. There was no one to help with our luggage, not even a cart available, so we had to carry our own, and we were on the eighth floor. We stayed at the Padre last year and were very satisfied but this year it was a low end dive. I would not recommend the Padre to stay unless they have a change of management and bring their standards up to meet the cost. It is not worth the money they charge and unless they improve their customer service we will not be spending our money in that hotel ever.
I loved this hotel, fun energetic cocktail lounge on main floor. Coffee bar with sandwiches and baked goods for those mornings you wish to lay low and relax at hotel. Nice place for a company Christmas party.
Same as a 5 star in LA or SF but it’s Bakersfield and much better priced. Best hotel in Bakersfield. Excellent staff
