Overpriced apartments. Terrible and unfriendly management. Broken a/c unit since beginning of the summer. Apartment never goes lower than 77-78 but management answer is “outside is 100 so 77-78 is not that bad.” Had millions of work order and never fixed. Every single time they keep telling it works well. Finally just couple weeks left. Dont waste your money and time. You can find better and cheaper options than here.
UPDATE: Now they are trying to steal my security deposit. Terrible property management, stay away. They lured me in with a move in bonus which was specified in my lease, then they made me pay it back. They kept me waiting 8 months for a mailbox and they charge me for gas even though I have no gas appliances. Ive caught both maintenance and the property manager enter or attempt to enter, without my permission and without notification. The deadbolt broke one time, and when I put in a maintenance request, they took it out without replacing it and never came back to finish the job. Had to pay my own money to fix their incompetence. The railing broke when I was going up the stairs, still nobody came to fix. They also refuse to fix my window that leaks whenever it rains, and they refuse to fix the garbage disposal. They made me take down my curtain on the balcony that was up for over a year for no reason. When my neighbor got bed bugs, they refuse to treat my apartment to prevent us from getting them. The water is disgusting and the boiler is constantly down for repairs. At this point, I would rather be homeless. Oh, and you can expect them to raise the rent on you every chance they get.
Priscilla and Amy have been wonderful at fixing an issue the previous staff created. I wanted to edit my review and sing their praises. They are both really kind and most certainly "accountable" for errors they did not even make. I did not ever hear back from corporate. Our issues would have been much easier to address if they would have helped. I feel like that made it harder on everyone involved. Again our issues were with previous staff and as a Realtor I would feel comfortable sending anyone their way. My son just ended his year long tenancy. We appreciate how hard the ladies work.
Edit from my post before which is not anything better. They gave me my deposit back 2 1/2 months later. Always dodging my calls and taking our number down and saying that the new company has taken over so they dont know what happened. A whole bunch of BS. The apartments overall very nice and historical, but the management, employees and company as a whole straight trash. I've never been denied an apartment and the girl who showed us the apartment never called us to tell us.. instead they took our money and didnt even care. I finally called and i came across a rude lady that said "Theres nothing i can do about your denial honey" which i understand but you shouldve had your employee call me with that notification instead of dodging my calls!! IT WAS HER TONE TOO. She seemed to have the "idc" attitude. I emailed her and she finally emailed me back saying she will mail me my holding fee check... unprofessional as hell. Like, all other apartments ive ever been to have worked with me. we have the income but not perfect credit. Whatever though. i found something better.
Don’t move here. You will regret every single second of it. We have sat through our downstairs being 85 degrees + throughout two summers and they never did anything. They don’t accept packages so good luck going to the post office if you work a 9-5 because everything you order will not be accepted. We have had 4 property managers in less than two years and nearly 10 maintenance teams if that tells you anything. New maintenance supervisor is pretty good though, I’ve gotta say that.
This is a horrible apartment to live in!!! Let me tell you why... We have been having A/C issues for the PAST 2 months and they aren't doing ANYTHING to fix our A/C. Our apartment has been in the 80s for the past 2 months!! This guy comes and checks the temperature and says "I will be back" but will not come back and fix it! They charge us for unnecessary fees!! I have proof of renters insurance on the portal, but they still charged us for the insurance even after I emailed her and let her know about the insurance!! I am a student and I will not recommend any student or anyone live at PARK AT CEDAR LAWN!!
My wife and I moved into our apartment in October 2020. The management at the time was not very attentive. We were without hot water over the News Years Eve weekend and it was cold. That person was replaced and the new manager is making major changes for the good. She is working very hard to improve the complex. The maintenance team is also very friendly and they work their butts off. All in all, its a great place to call home.
Updating this to add: the office no longer accepts packages. No reason - they just decided to stop. USPS also never delivers to the door so good luck getting packages if you live here. You’ll be going to the post office a lot! DO NOT MOVE HERE. Seriously. There have been 4 different property managers in the 2 years we’ve lived here. They’ve ranged from clueless to malicious. The maintenance crew is incompetent. The A/C never works yet they’ll try to tell us it’s normal for the apartment to stay at 78-80 degrees, even at night. ROCO will pay an outside HVAC company to come diagnose the problem but will not pay them to fix it. They instead ask their worthless and probably underpaid maintenance team to fix it, which they will not. They do not perform routine maintenance on anything. The pool is disgusting. When we moved in, our apartment wasn’t even cleaned and a lot of things were broken, which took months to get fixed. We asked maintenance to replace some loose electrical outlets and they told us to just bend the prongs on our device plugs to make them stay. A pipe in our ceiling started dripping water from the jacked up A/C and they tried to place a hose in the middle of our shower to let it drain instead of FIXING THE LEAK. Yet our rent has gone up 40% in the past 2 years. Google ROCO real estate and you’ll see all of their poor reviews and previous lawsuits against them. Avoid them at all costs.
The application process with Bernadette was painful with no local anesthetic at best. How do you conduct business only by text? How do you not answer the phone during business hours? I can only imagine being once legally binded into a contract with these marginally professional and competent folks, that my experience would have been worse. Excuses instead of solutions. What a great way to run a business. Action and inaction both have consequences, your inaction to calls about our daughters application and then refusing a refund because we had to make a decision to go else where due to your slow as the government responses. If you want to throw away your hard earned money. This is the place for it. Let all these red flags be a warning.
We’ve lived here for two years now, and have lived in two different units. Both have been kept reasonably clean by previous tenants and were well maintained. We’ve been very pleased with the maintenance staff here and I really like the leasing manager, Kristy. She’s very friendly and easy to talk to. We like that the neighbors are quiet, the management is nice and responsive, and the prices are fairly good. The location is nice too. We have enjoyed our time here.
