About a month ago I wrote a very negative review about the food here at Village on the Park. But after I wrote it I was contacted by Andrea our Director and Chef Richard. They scheduled a meeting with me and went over all of my complaints. They addressed each one and told me how they planned to improve in each area. I was so pleased that I had been heard. Afterwards we all noticed a marked improvement in all areas and are now really enjoying our meals. We are getting a better variety of foods, they are tasty and served HOT! I cannot say thank you enough! I am even going to post a picture I took of a delicious duck dinner Chef Richard prepared for us an notice what a nice presentation.
The only reason it not five stars is the food. My mom has been there fourteen months. She still misses her house but every day I hear about how great the staff there is and that she's as "happy as she can be" given her circumstances. I am very happy with my our choice for her.
I chose to sell my home and move here when I felt living alone was no longer safe for me. My family was so happy about my decision they waisted no time getting me moved in. I have never regretted it. I love the staff and the way they work to make it a happy place to be. The building is very attractive and the way they decorate for holidays is absolutely gorgeous. It puts me in the spirit of the holidays!.. But most of all I love all the new friends I have made here. Especially after living alone in my home for a year after my husband passed away. Being here gives my life more meaning and puts a smile on my face again. I love it here! Also love our Chef Richard! He is the best!!
My mom lives here. She loved the food when she first moved in a couple of years ago. Now the food is uneatable 75% of the time…and there is no variety….the menu seldom varies week after week. Sides she says are things like box potatoes that are over cooked until dry. After multiple meetings with the Chef and management nothing ever changes. She has gotten to where she hates going to meals. In fact she has been buying groceries in order to be able to fix herself something in her apartment. That gets expensive especially considering how much she pays to live there and is paying for the food she has grown to really dislike so much. I cannot understand why no effort is made to improve this issue.
I am a healthcare provider of color and I must say that I have never been treated with such disrespect by concierge. I'm not sure if they let the residents operate the front but it felt like 1960. I was ignored by them while they chatted and one of the 3 looked at me and continued chatting about the holidays. I asked what room a resident was in as I was her provider and he said "you should know that". I wont be referring this place to anyone if that is the "welcome" I receive. 12/02/22 Time:1345
My Mom moved to the Village when she could no longer live on her own. She had a one bedroom apt. The Village supplied 3 meals and snacks, transportation, entertainment, activities etc. She was given a medical pendant to alert the staff if she needed medical help. The Village supplied housekeeping. There was a washer/dryer for the residents. Mom loved the apt, and made friends very quickly. The staff was very caring, friendly and professional. Only problem was that the food needed more variety. She wanted Mexican and Chinese, or a cafeteria similar to Luby's.
Excellent independent living facility. The staff is professional, caring and accommodating. The grounds and building are always neat and very clean. The dining room is light, airy and provides healthy meals and snacks. There are a wide variety of daily activities and outings. I have had family living there for over 10 years and they truly enjoy the lifestyle Village On The Park provides.
Our family came for lunch one day, to check out the facilities, since my grandpa was thinking of moving in. Very fresh, clean and pleasant smelling throughout the building. Very clean, well-maintained and attractive. Lots of activities, amenities and options. The apartments were reasonably sized and the staff was friendly and helpful. The lunch was quite good and they had portion options, so you could get small, medium or large, and they had lots on offer. A very nice facility.
We've just recently moved our Dad here after looking at other communities in the Houston area and I knew after our first visit that this would be a great place for him to enjoy the rest of his senior years! There are newer and what I call fancier places but it's the people on staff who make this place special. There is tremendous stability among the staff with many working there 10-14 years! We also like the fact that while Dad is now able to live independently if he should need help in the future that can be arranged. Village on the Park Friendswood has gone above and beyond to make my Dad feel welcome and he's settled in nicely and is making new friends! Here you will be part of the family and people truly care about you!
I just moved here and I normally take time to write a review, but this place deserves an immediate one. The welcome I recieved here was unbelievable. From the moment I entered the lobby, I could tell I was surrounded by professional, kind, and caring people. From the general manager to the consiaire staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I have lived in several senior living places, but I think this one is the best I ever experienced. It's quiet and peaceful, yet there are many things to do here. Check this place out before you commit to any other place. The food, apartments, and surroundings are all excellent. Special thanks to Lisa, Ali, Joe, consiaires, and all the staff who made me feel I was immediately at home.
