The place was fabulous! The Christmas decorations were beautiful, the staff super friendly, service was great. We went to the rooftop, it was a little windy to be outside, even though the views were wonderful. We went inside to the bar and the service was great. The drinks were great. We really enjoyed it. We did not order any food, but the espresso martinis are definitely worth ordering.
The hotel is in a wonderful area. The staff is always accommodating. They went out if their way to help me get my driver's license I left at the hotel in NJ. We also had to leave early because I got sick and had to get home for work, they assured us we would get a credit for the early check out. Only downside was our view. Looking at the outdoor air condition unit on the top of the roof. They did upgrade us to a bigger suite. We enjoyed our time here as we enjoyed our stay at the Peninsula in Paris.
It was very pleasant memories at the Peninsula NYC! The Christmas chocolates were so good, I will come back for your chocolates! Thank you to the front desk managers, you were very professional and kind!
Lots of construction right outside the main entrance so you are greeted by literally a large plume of smoke/steam every morning. Also the construction is very noisy at night, we are on the 11th floor on the main entrance side, would recommend asking for a room on the other side of the building.Rooms: 5/5
We had the best experience at a hotel EVER. The staff was professional, caring and kind...even joyful in a really busy, crazy time. Concierge, house keeping, front desk, room service, you knocked it out of the park!!Rooms: 5/5
I'm a chauffeur and haven't stayed at the hotel. I can tell you that all the customers I pick up there ,are all very happy with the experience at this hotel. The management is top notch at the hotel. Thank youService: 5/5
One of the most famous and old hotels I guess in New York City. Very popular hotel for it’s Christmas décore every year. New Yorkers and tourists come here to take pictures. I have rated the place 5 stars but I must mention some negative points before: The smell in some parts of the hotel is really bad and the food is not the best. When you walk in to the reception from the main entrance you love the Christmas décoration am not sure how it will look like after Christmas decoration is removed but the marble stairs and big chandeliers are beautiful and gives you a great impression of the place. But I had a baby stroller so I was asked to enter from a side separate door somehow on ground level to take the elevator and reach the receiption floor and I was shocked with the very bad smell Down there. Smell of old rusty unhealthy space and that was a very bad impression . After check in is done we had to take another elevator inside the hotel to reach our room but again the elevator had a very bad smell. They have sprayed sth trying to mask the smell but I believe it made things even worse. Walking to the room , the hallways were clean and renovated. The room was very clean and I guess renovated too. We had a small view to 5th Avenue. I saw an old piece of furniture in the room used as a bar and Tv support but it looks like vintage and I appreciate that. Some chocolate cookies were there as a welcoming gesture that taste super good. Restroom was renovated and clean . I didn’t find dental kit so I called and I requested 2 kits. One for me and one for my husband and after waiting like 10 min I received only one. That was little weird for a 5 star hotel charging more than 1k per night. Next to the receiption there is a small bar and restaurant that offers food and fast bites but unfortunately again the food was not tasty. It might be a personal taste here but I expected to eat sth special and expected to be offered food done by some good chefs not done by regular cooking skills. The second day on breakfast , the breakfast was average too . We asked for shakshoukah and a sandwich with a fruit dish and 2 cappuccinos. The place where breakfast was served is very dark and has very low lights. Perfect for a dinner for 2 couples but not a place where breakfast should be served . It makes you feel you want to go to bed again. The waiter was really nice and did his best to offer what we asked for . The amazing thing they did to us and why I honestly rated the place 5 stars is that they gave us a late check out for free. This is the second time I stay in peninsula and I was offered the same in paris too. I’m with my 2 years old baby and giving us a late check out is really helpful and generous from their part. I will probably wants to go back to peninsula Newyork but I will try to get a better deal or pay less than 1k as I feel it was too much for the money paid. I stayed in other hotels in New York with better things offered at slightest better price and very close to peninsula .
BRILLIANT! Been there few times and everything is so awesome, especially the working staff. Sry for my English misspellings etc. Hope you can understand me. Greetings from Wienna, Austria .Rooms: 5/5
This review is of the experience at the spa. Reservations were on a Saturday morning. We arrived about 10 minutes late which I was worried about but there was no issue and recieved full service. Peninsula Hotel presences a grand entrance absolutely beautiful! Elevators are located on the second floor, spa is on the 21st floor. The spa lobby is comfortable and welcoming. After completing a simple form the locker attendant escorted us to the locker room. She was extremely resourceful walked us through everything. The spa smells of eucalyptus and immediately creates a sensual relaxing feeling. The furniture is of oak and walls are if warm colors. The relaxing room has 4 beds that are also equipped with head phones. A must experience before or after the service. My facial was amazing. This is a must stop if you in New York. One of the best spa's I've been too.
Everything was good about the hotel itself. We booked the entry room. Given the location, the room was certainly not huge. Very nice though. The refrigerator in our room did not work, and the mattress needed to be replaced. The side closest to the door, which is probably the side most commonly slept, was worn out and not comfortable. My wife took the other side and was in a bit better shape. Aside that a lovely hotel in a great location. Room service was excellent and the room was clean every day.
