Let me start by saying job well done Darla i’ll give you a 10 star. If there was 10 stars on here I brought my precious kitty of 24 years to you Callie moore and you treated me like family even had me put my cat inside your chapel and offered to pray with me, even though it was closing time , even offered to stay after if needed to be … she took her time to listen to me between tears and a heart full of loss She even made sure to put my kitty on a special tub tray with care I have no doubt that Callie was treatead with the most up respect. Darla took the time to do it, Paw print and cray paw print Thank you again you made that a whole lot easier , even give me a special blessed rock and let me ring your send off bell Thanks again
This is hands-down the best place to bring your pet after he or she has passed. Unfortunately one of our fur-family members passed away due to heart disease. After she passed, one of the veterinary staff members asked us if we wanted to do cremation. We said yes and asked what company does the cremation. After some searching, I realized that they are based in Phoenix, which means they are going to ship my cat to Phoenix, cremate her, then ship her back. There is a truck that comes once a week that picks up the animals. This didn’t sit well with me. After some searching, we found the Pet Cemetery of Tucson. I called them and was told I could personally bring Kira, our cat, to them. They did want to schedule a time that was only about one hour away. I believe is the right thing to do to ensure that each person gets 100% personalized attention. I told the vet we wanted to take Kira, and we drove her there ourselves. The staff at the cemetery were so wonderful, kind, respectful, and treated our pet with dignity. They walked us through everything, let us take as much time as we needed, and let us say our goodbyes to our beloved pet. On our way out, she told us to ring the bell and take a stone I think it was a memory stone. We picked our pet’s ashes up a few days later. It was the best quality service I could have ever asked for. The Per Cemetery of Tucson is also a calm, beautiful place. My wife and I spent some time exploring the grounds and looking at the different graves. If another pet passes, we will not take our pet anywhere else. With this said, I don’t think people should use the cremation services offered by veterinarians. We never will again. For one, it’s more expensive. The cost was $140 at the Pet Cemetery of Tucson, while the veterinary hospital wanted $408. The increased cost is due to the veterinary hospital charging additional costs for profit. You also don’t know who is handling your pet. Some guy picks up a bunch of pets and ships them off. The process is very impersonal, not transparent, and you don’t know if your pet is handled with dignity and respect.
All I can say is thank you! best experience in a really bad moment. Very sorry forgot her name but she only works there every tuesday. Thank you did a great job.
I really appreciate the care and compassion we received during this difficult time. I’m certain that my Ramses is at peace. We got the cremation and shadow box with clay paw print. A beautiful journey over the rainbow.
It is never easy to lose a beloved pet, but Darla at the Pet Cemetery eased the pain as much as possible for us. She returned my call quickly and gave me an appointment to bring my dog in right after he was euthanized at home by Dr. Miller. The process was smooth and the cost for communal cremation was very reasonable compared to other places. Yesterday we had a small memorial gathering at the Garden of Memories and hung my dog's collar there, where his ashes were scattered. I highly recommend this place to you, as long as Darla is there.
Unfortunately, we have had to use Darla's services several times over the many years we've lived in Tucson. Fortunately, every experience has been exceptional. Our very first experience was a very hot summer night when our dog died unexpectedly. I called the number expecting to leave a message, but Darla answered. It was almost midnight when she met us with our pup. We quickly went over the paperwork, and she explained we could pick out our urn when we came to pick him up. We had to use her again yesterday, and as always she was wonderful. She's spectacular with kids; she's encouraged them to send drawings off with their pets, and to pick out remembrance stones from her garden area. She's patient when they pick out urns, and her resident cat is always friendly and ready to get lots of petting. The kids have always left feeling like their beloved pet is in good hands, and we have as well. I've never known her to be rude, or disrespectful. She is a no-nonsense type, with a dry sense of humor....and very witty at times. Her business is very regulated. I did not know that every time her crematorium is turned on she must have the paperwork that matches, she has fire dept. inspections every 3 months, and a while ago her crematorium caught on fire due to faulty repair work and was closed for almost a year. It's a family run business, so when Darla apparently got "upset" that another reviewer wanted to be present for the cremation and "push the button", it wasn't something she knew in advance or was prepared to do right that minute. We've always been very happy to have this long-time Tucson family business handle our cremation needs.
We came in without an appointment by accident but we were helped anyways with love and kindness. I know my little boys cremation will be handled with integrity and care. And a very special thank you to Darla and her cat for making this easier for us.
I have had to visit Darla at The Pet Cemetery 3 times in the past 2 years. The most recent with the loss of my dog Rosie was even more painful than usual, as Rosie's death was sudden and entirely unexpected. As always, Darla was calm, caring, professional, and gave clear information about the process. I love the peaceful and beautiful grounds, and wandering the paths is comforting. The cost is quite reasonable, and service is timely. No matter how busy they are, I always get an appointment very quickly. That is appreciated and necessary, and I'm thankful Darla works 7 days a week to offer that level of availability.
My sweet family dog passed. We called Pet Cemetery of Tucson as we used them years ago for a "private" cremation. They were kind and caring then. But that was then, and this is now. We scheduled a time to bring our little one in. The poorly dressed woman with a bossy attitude came to our vehicle. She asked if I could back my car into the platform area and if I knew how to back up my car, as many people don't know this basic skill or understand what is being asked of them. We placed our dog on their trolley to move her to the furnace area. The assistant rolled the trolley to the furnace area and started to close the metal roll-down door. We stopped the process, as we were expecting a private cremation that would begin when we arrived and that we could place our pet into the furnace and push the start button as we did with our first pet. This would be my last duty to my girl. The woman came unglued. She went on about how we never said we wanted to place our pet in the furnace, and on the same day too. She continued to say that is an option that will need to be rescheduled, and there would be an extra charge. Her whole attitude was so uncaring, demanding, curt, and unprofessional. She never informed us of our options when we called. She also never told us how long our pet would be kept in a box for a private cremation. My gut thought was that something was wrong here. What is she hiding? Are they charging for private cremations when it's really a batch cremation? Or, do they dispose of the pet in other ways—toss it in the desert, put it in a hole? How would you know? Where's the guarantee that the ashes are those of my pet? I do not recommend this service unless you don't care about your pet's remains and you like a crusty, uncaring badly dressed person with no manners. She fails at being a funeral director.
When our pet/family member Caesar passed unexpectedly we were grief stricken. It was a Sunday and when I realized I’d have to call a place to handle his remains it was already getting late in the day. I called The Pet Cemetery of Tucson 5 minutes before closing, and the woman on the other end of the line was very comforting and offered to stay open a little later so that we could take our dog Caesar in. She let us have one last goodbye with our little boy. After a couple of weeks we picked up his remains and a paw print they had made us. I hope you never need this service but when you do I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get their pets ashes back. Thank you to the staff for making this part of the process a little easier.
