We are a full line aquarium store, dedicated to educating people about the hobby so that they can enjoy a healthy aquarium. Largest independent aquarium store in Broward County, we feature individual tank filtration for excellent fish health. Largest selection of freshwater aquatic plants, custom fertilizers, CO2 systems and high tech Plant LED lighting available. Our exotic Bettas are kept in filtered & heated tanks, not cups for their health and well being. Dedicated freshwater inverts and shrimp section. Over 50 tanks of freshwater tropical fish in stock! Our Marine fish, corals and inverts are kept in individually non shared systems for disease control. We carry both wild and aqua-cultured fish.

We love this store! From the owner, Miriam to the staff, they are highly personable and very well educated in all aspects of the aquarium hobby, from fish to plants and products. They have a varied selection of HEALTHY fish and plants, and aquarium products as well. We go there about once every other week and always get top service and earn reward points for future purchases too. We highly recommend this business to anyone serious about keeping fish! WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
I have nothing but praise for the staff at "The Planted Aquarium"... their friendly, knowledgeable assistance certainly helped me out of an aquarium crisis this week! After years of sparse or uncertain information it is such a relief to have a resource like these guys around at last. I've been keeping fresh water fish for a few years now and FINALLY there is someone I can turn to for specific, precise and practical information which WORKS! The store is really beautiful too, with an amazing assortment of exotic, beautiful, healthy fish. They will be seeing a lot more of me. Highest possible recommendations from this very satisfied customer!
The planted aquarium store not only offers amazing choice in products , but gives you amazing help with your tank. If you have a question anything having to do with the freshwater aquarium hobby ask. they know what there talking about. Overall, great place to go.
I LOVE the Planted Aquarium Store! Where else do you get such a wide variety of hard to find fish and plants in South Florida? A lot more risk shopping online and easier to get info from the experience and knowledge that they have at the Planted Aquarium Store. Anyone who likes Aquascaping or wants a spectacular Aquarium I tell them about this place. I m on my third aquascape, I've tried other stores, shopping online and I have yet to be able to compare closely to here.
Fabulous! The whole staff is very knowledgeable and always helpful! They make sure you have all the supplies you may need to keep healthy fish and plants! I highly recommend everyone interested in this hobby check them out! Well worth the visit.
I recommend the planted aquarium to everyone and anyone who's sick of the big box stores having sick fish. These fish are healthy and happy. And they've got some really cool fish you don't always see in big box stores. I will forrver come here for me fish. Love you guys!
Recently came in planning to get a rimless tank and maybe some aqua soil for a new setup. In the Mr aqua rimless tank section of the store when a buddy of mine and I saw a bright sign that had the words Sale on mr aqua soil 20lb bag $39 something for the large size grain, $41 something for the smaller size grain. Immediately thought, this is awesome and perfect timing. I then proceed to the front counter to confirm the sale. I was met with confusion and disbelief. The gentleman quickly went to that area to see what I was speaking of. He then saw the sign that was clear as day promoting the sale, and quickly ripped it off of where it was displayed. I figured I would ask if I can still buy this awesome soil at this great price. I was met with loud bursts of laughter as if I had done something wrong. We both felt foolish at this point. He then added that "that was a good one, no", implying that I had just made a really funny joke. The only ones laughing were them. I had to think twice about buying the rimless tank at this point, but did so anyway. We've been in this store many times and have always had a good experience purchasing many equipments, plants, rocks, tools, etc. from them. They are always very helpful, but this last experience has put a sore feeling in my muscles whenever I think of them now. I will most likely be buying my stuff online verses trying to help the local shops. Getting things right away is nice, but I'll just wait for shipping and not be laughed at with these fake sales promotions... To your reply: Are you kidding? Do you even hear the words you typed if you were to read it aloud? The word sale was on there your bright neon sign. If your camera is clear enough you can review your video or even look at your sign again from the trash. Why in the world would I ask for a discount when the sign says Sale, $41 for 20lbs of mr aqua soil. 1 bag is 10lbs, so it would be 2 bags in total to equal 20lbs. I never asked for a free bag! Do not try to turn your fake sale into something of a lie on my end. I never asked for anything free. I also did speak directly to the female owner and the male worker there. Take your own advice, and try not to take advantage of customers with false advertisement and making up lies. This is absurd to say the least... Update: Their reply now is, that it was a price tag and the sign had a misprint/misunderstanding. Also wished me luck with buying online now. My reply: If it was a price tag, why didn't you allow me to purchase this item, that clearly had the price tag brightly showing in front of it...? Also, how is this my fault for misunderstanding YOUR sign? $41 for 20lbs of mr aqua soil? It's pretty easy to understand. If I give you $41 plus tax, then give me 20lbs of mr aqua soil... very simple... Since there seems to be no sign of them attempting to correct or help this matter any further, I am now changing my review to 1 star... Good luck and hopefully this incident will have helped anyone in the future.
RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY - ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS IN SECOND SECTION It doesn't matter how you get a customer's information. Using it to attempt to pry into their personal lives is childish and unprofessional. Even if someone gave me a bad review at work which is unlikely, I would never consider using their information to look them up and stalk them. I'm not threatening to take my business elsewhere, I'm promising. The most ironic part is that you would spend more effort writing a passive-aggressive, poorly punctuated reply than actually providing customer service. And the girl IS a stoner, and the owner IS rude. That's not name calling, it's just being honest. I wish I could give zero stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW Plant selection mediocre, owner Miriam condescending and rude. Was sold nerite snails that were recently dead, so they still appeared to be alive upon purchase. Now they are empty shells. Wouldn't exchange for live snails, Miriam said she didn't need my business anyway. Also, the stoner girl who is always too baked to string complete sentences together lurked my Facebook using my name from my credit card info. If you do make the mistake of shopping here, at the very least pay cash and don't give a real name. Much better prices and service at Neighborhood Fish Farm in Miami and Fish Paradise in Hallandale ask for Anthony, he knows what customer service is. Also like Beverly Pet Center and Exotic Aquarium.
This store could possibly be a 4 or 5 if they had someone who worked there that actually wanted to help you. My husband and I looked around and not once did anyone ask if we needed help. My husband asked a woman who worked there if she could help us and she didn't even respond and just looked at him. So when he asked again she finally said yeah. After asking her about 2 questions she just walked away. So I walked out empty handed because I don't enjoy buying things from people who can not converse with me about an important decision.
Ordered Kribensis fish online. Arrived in excellent shape. Great fish, have had three spawns in 6 mos in my community tank. I would buy from these folks again!
