The service was excellent! The bartender was great!!! Very fast, accurate, excellent personality. The food simply sucked. The tacos lacked flavor, the meats were bland, hard to tell what they each were. The shrimp taco only had 2 shrimps. Overall the tacos were not good. In theory they sounded appealing but in terms of true authentic flavor, going to Long Wharf in New Haven, the taco trucks are 100% authentic and consistent. The tortillas were not warmed up and I think the best part of the food was the guacamole with chips. This place was just good for drinks and tortilla chips at best. I’m glad my wait was minimal, we quickly ate and left. We were done with the place within an hour. Bartaco seems like a better choice in this type of taco category if you’re looking for drinks, ambiance and decent tacos not authentic
Great little place. Authentic flavors and nice options. Queso was good and probably authentic but used to a more creamy preparation. Tortilla chips are fresh made and really good. Salsa is natural and a great fresh break from other heavier options.
If you aren’t going here you have something wrong with you, this place has the best atmosphere, servers, bartenders and food. If you’re a steak guy get the steak and have it cooked at most medium rare. The bartender dyl is the most genuine person, very personable and just overall a top G Parking: Good parking just very busy in the plaza Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a ground level flat easy to access
Been coming here since it opened but hadn't been in a while because, now, I live 90 miles away. Given the Mexican we have in Mystic, Bodega Taco Bar is well worth the drive. It's still fantastic! From the not-too-sweet Margaritas to the genuine tasting and always super high quality food, this ex-San Diego boy rates BTB an easy 5 stars. P. S. the guac is fantastic and the chips are superlative.
This place is nice. I am only giving it 4 stars because the service was spotty. Go with patience -lol. The food is really good. I would go back here. The Drinks Excellent!!! My issue with this place was they sat us and it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to approach us. finally someone was walking by noticed us just waiting and came back to take our order. The food came out fast. The guac is good and the pico too. We didn't love the burrito but the Tacos were great.
I’ve been coming here for a long time. Tonight was my first visit in a year or so; feels like the quality has taken a major nosedive. Everything feels designed to work primarily as takeout, secondarily as food served in an actual restaurant. Formerly crisp Brussels sprouts rendered soggy and overly sweet. What used to be a sizzling fajita platter now a soupy mess of onions and wet steak, with literal store bought flour tortillas. Like, the Mission brand. For real! Idk. I guess everything changes. So it goes! Three stars because our server was really lovely, the lighting is still pretty cozy, and the margarita slapped.
4:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Busy with many seats and tables occupied, but we were seated quickly. Enough noise so you knew there were many there, but quiet enough that you could have a conversation or order. Tacos were not large, but were very tastey. Service prompt. Bowl we got was also flavorful. Will come back again.
Always great service. Inside and outside seating. When friends come to town this is our first stop.
I could eat their guacamole alone, its so good
Bodega is an excellent place to stop and get a drink and some tacos. I’ve come multiple times now and have not had a bad experience. The atmosphere: is a very trendy taqueria. They have a great bar and limited seating inside. The staff: have always been kind and quick. I have never had a problem. The food: is delicious if you know what to order. Some tacos are hit-and-miss, but the carne asada main was delicious and might be the best item on the menu. The guacamole is also freshly made. Cleanliness: every time it has been clean. Overall I come back often, and being able to mix and match the different tacos is really great.
