The Purdue Exponent is an independent student media organization published by a not-for-profit Indiana corporation known as the Purdue Student Publishing Foundation. The mission of the Purdue Exponent is divided into three specific areas:
As a media organization, the Purdue Exponent has as its primary mission to serve the undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, and residents of the Purdue University community by seeking out and providing a credible news service with diverse information. The organization also has a mission of providing a forum for discussion of campus, community, state, national and world events that affect the paper's audience.
As an educational institution, the Purdue Exponent has as its mission to assist in the education of Purdue students by providing practical experience in the execution of the evolving responsibilities essential to modern media wherein students can receive vocational training in business, management, journalism, advertising sales and production.
As a business, the Purdue Exponent has as its mission the continued maintenance of financial solvency by the publication of a quality product funded by advertisers who are served by the Exponent in a timely, affordable, accessible and available manner.
