On the search for a new nail tech because my old tech decided to focus on her vision my coworker sent me to this spot. My biggest mistake was not reading the reviews before going. I though I was tripping honestly and was being overly critical since I been going to a black nail tech for over 2 years. Let me first start with the style seat... the massive selections of services.. I was reading through them to find the closest service I need and guess what I still got it WRONG! For a simple service of a basic pedi and gel mani and gel removal I clearly selected the wrong service. Now how I found out was when the owner called the tech to tell her which services I was getting. Luckily the tech asked me what I was getting before she started and the owner called. Meanwhile during their conversation which I can hear the tech is explaining to the owner what I wanted and the owner clearly has an attitude I selected the wrong services. The tech even went as far to ask the owner do you want me to place you on speaker so she can explain what she want the owner said NO! Shocking right.. smh the owner told the tech what services and the prices and hung up. ‍ Great customer service. That was a perfect opportunity to engage the customer so if I decided to come back I know exactly which service to select. Now, the tech was wonderful, great person, beautiful soul, moves slow for a hour service. Granted I got there 5 min late but I left the shop 2hrs later. I never been in a salon that long for my nails unless I was bsing with my tech. She did a wonderful job on my nails and very personable. Honestly I felt like she didn't belong there. The environment seem off to me. Plus, the way the owner talked to her over the phone rubbed me wrong. That leads to the next issue. In the middle of my pedi a potential client knocked on the door and she answered and the person needed their eyebrows done but noone was there to do them, hence the nail tech was the only person in there or so I thought. The owner calls her phone and said, "did you just let money walk out the door" of course the tech explained what happened. Now I'm curious where is the owner because you said she should be on her way in so I can ask about the payment but she can clearly see what transpired... to me that was so degrading. This lady sits in this shop all day waiting for clients to build her clientele, did she really think she would turn away money? That blew my mind. Another knock at the door 2 more potential clients of course she couldn't service them for another 20min when she would've been done with me. She came back and I said I guess she is about to call again about letting clients go again. Smh but she didn't. The lack of professional was huge for me. Last thing payment. On style seat they take your credit card info and say that will charge if you are late or no show. I come to the shop thinking ok style seat has my info so I don't need to stop and get cash. The tech had no clue on how payment works. After my service I had to check my account to see if I was charged. After seeing I wasnt charged the tech had to call the owner and asked how to make my payment. I had to use the ATM in the shop. Get charge a financial fee to withdraw money. I felt very uncomfortable using that atm esp after my banking info was stolen before from a similar atm. I rather use my bank ATM. I told the tech it should be somewhere on style seat that says to bring cash. Needless to say my search will continue.
I've tried on more than one occasion to support Gia and her business. She is the only SKILLED technician, I won't dispute her work. Her schedule is to busy and her staff skill set is way below average and not worth the money. Chairs are uncomfortable and it takes way to long to complete services. After seeing A horrible pedicure and polish she passed me off to another below average tech because she had to rush off. Still unhappy, I went to another salon to fix the mess. Instead of refunding my money, she offered a credit thinking I wouldn't mind spending 2 more hours for her to repair what she knew was awful work. When I declined she still refused to refund my money. Her attitude was down right ghetto even after admitting the work was bad. Needless to say she never refunded my money so I got GOT! What I won't do is ever go back or recommend.
Changed my review. Never again. Gel polish isn’t supposed to chip after five days. While the location is close to my home, I’ll take the advice of the other reviewers and not come back. Hopefully I can find another black owned nail salon within a week. Update. I've been in contact with the girl who did my nails. One of my nails broke I put my hand in my pocket and snap! Even tho she offered to fix the issues I've experienced not even a week, I've decided to not take up the offer.
My service was horrible. The owner Gia did my nails while she was drinking an alcoholic beverage. She did not know how to do no nail art, she was rude and with all the noise in the atmosphere it was ghetto. When I came and inquired about the prices she snapped at me about how they were on the board. The bathroom was disgusting and seemed unfinished. Very unhygienic . When I asked about nail art by hand she aggressively tried to convince me about some kind of foils and rhinestones. And she was quick to roll her eyes when I declined her offer. In the end I ended up with very basic nails that were definitely overpriced and overrated through their social media. I've been to better establishments with better service and prices.PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
I have had several visits to the Purple Peach and I have left satisfied. The last visit, Gia fixed my nails from a rather subpar full set. His was able to reshape and paint my nails in a way I liked. They offer wine and an assortment of cute Purple Peach themes items. I'm. It sure what all the reviews of her attitude are for. She has a quite demeanor but will talk and hold lengthy conversations. She does not do nail art but the mails themselves actually look great. All the visits I have had were rather pleasant and my nails looked good after the visit.
This was my first experience with the salon. Technician Gia wasn't sociable or personable during the service. That could be a good thing, or not. I was the only person in the salon & aside from the music stream, which I loved, and my brief mobile phone conversations there was no conversation exchange. Not sure if that's what I'd want from my regular pedicurist. My service was cosmetology school basic so I didn't anticipate any disappointments and there weren't. As long as my nail service needs remain basic I would definitely return. If only for the sake of supporting black owned. That would probably be the only reason. Love supporting my own. Hands down.
Love Gia! She took great care of my nails after they were mistreated by another tech, excellent service, good prices, and excellent health/safety protocols, during covid or otherwise. I'll be returning next month!
Wow after reading some of these other reviews I'm in TOTAL disbelief. My experience was nothing less then AMAZING. The purple peach was beautiful on the inside and has great atmosphere. The music was very warm an welcoming, the owner was the sweetest lady ever. She was very interested in what I had going on our conversation was great, we talked about all kinds of things. The owner even let me charge my phone which I thought was very nice. My nails look great and she didn't treat me different because I was a male. All and all I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER AND THIS PLACE TO AS MANY PROPLR AS POSSIBLE !!!!
