This is a fantastic activity experience for families, couples or even groups! It’s similar to the trendy artwork known in this area as “shard art”. It is essentially creating a mosaic on canvas using all kinds of different small materials that patrons “shop” around the store picking before sitting down to begin their canvas design. Our first visit was with two toddlers, and I was surprised at how engaged they were throughout the process! This would also be a great date night or double date activity if you are looking for something different and artsy! Most materials are very recycled, which makes you feel good about supporting this local artistic business while working on your artwork.

After searching for things to do in Destin on a rainy day, we came across Redbird. We went into it not really knowing what to expect and since then I’ve been back four times! You make your own art out of recycled glass and other materials, then it cures in resin overnight and you pick it up the next day. Robin, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s all up to your imagination on what you want to create and Robin is as hands off or hands on as you want her to be. The prices are reasonable especially compared to the Shard Shop and you get to come home with a unique piece of art that you created yourself.

We were in Destin and it was raining. We searched for something to do indoors with our girls. We decided to try Redbird Art Experience. We had the most fun. Robin, the owner, was such a great host. We took canvasses and used recycled things to make a piece of art. What a great idea! My daughters are wanting to go back to Destin just to be able to go to The Redbird Art Experience again! 5 STARS!

I have never been to a shop like this.  All recycled materials that are so we'll organized.  The owner is so helpful and inspiration comes easy at this neat studio.  It was such a great way to spend a couple of hours on vacation and what better souvenir than an art project you make yourself!  We will definitely return to the area and the Redbird!  Even if you are not "artsy" this is a great experience!

My husband took time on our vacation to drive to this location which was on the other side of town from where we were vacationing, so that I could view some artwork that had been advertised on display at this business establishment. We looked up the business and noted the posted hours and ventured out. When we arrived the business was closed. It appeared as those people were inside so I called. The owner answered and quickly apologized for having to leave early. She took time to ask me what I was looking for and so I explained. She knew what I was seeking and said she would go in the next day and take pictures and send to me so I could see if what she had on display was of interest. I thought "wow" how nice! Unfortunately, the pictures never came. We did make another stop by the business on our way out of town which was on a Monday after 10:00am. Again the business was not open as it should have been according to posted hours. As a human being, I completely understand that things come up that cannot be helped. However, as a business owner myself, I would offer some advice to try and stay up to date on your posted hours when you have a change.  This inconvenience was not earth-shattering, but it was annoying to take time away from other activities to make the drive not once but twice with no results. I'm certain their is a logical explanation. Communication can be a business owners key to survival. I'm sure this establishment is quite lovely.

Fantastic art experience! Robin and her art always inspire me in new and creative ways. I walk in with my wife thinking, “ I can’t do any of this art!” But once I get started, I find out that I can!  Too much fun.

Didn't know what to expect. Cozy little place, Robin the owner was marvelous. Had no clue what I was doing but with Robin's assistance and positive encouragement I ended up proud at what I was able to accomplish. Great place for a date night or with a few friends. Try it, thanks again Robin!

It was so much fun creating art with glass a group of 5 of us. I would do it again.

So much fun! Brought out the hidden artist in this engineer...
