The Health Professions Advising Office serves all current degree-seeking students and alumni of the University of Maryland, as well as students enrolled in basic sciences graduate programs or the Science in the Evening Program.
The Health Professions Advising Office offers a wide variety of advising services to guide students through the academic and administrative processes necessary to achieve their goals. Our health professions advisors encourage students to learn through community service, clinical exposure, laboratory research, and campus organizations. We help students to become self-directed learners and to assume a significant role in their pre-professional education. We encourage students to become broadly educated in order not to lose personal growth opportunities.
The Health Professions Advising Office emphasizes the integration of a humanistic approach to pre-professional education with depth and breadth. This is our philosophy and these are the methods by which we help students prepare for careers in the health professions.
The mission of the undergraduate Health Professions Advising Office supports the overall objectives of the University of Maryland, particularly its commitment to health care education and the training of health care professionals for the 21st century and beyond.
