The Roots Coffeebar & Cafe Waukesha

About

Roots Coffeebar in downtown Waukesha has a comfortable, relaxed feel serving handcrafted beverages, sandwiches and baked goods.

Description

Growing up, sisters Heidi and Hilary, often talked about opening a coffeeshop together. They loved the community feel that a coffeeshop brings to a town. They wanted to build a place for people to meet, and spend quality time together making wonderful memories. Coming from very hard-working parents; their Dad was an electrician for 34 years, and their mom went back to school to be a nurse after having all five kids. A year before their parents were set to retire to explore the world their dad learned he had ALS and had only two years left to live. They showed their daughters that life is too short to have dreams stay dreams. After a lot of planning and saving and hard work by them and their families, Heidi and Hilary opened their dream in August 2011. Thankfully their dad was able to see their dream open before shortly after passing away in October 2011. He is very much a part of the coffeeshop every day, their whole family is…at any given day you may see their mom, sibling, or even child working and helping out. You can sense the love for family as soon as you open the door. Some special touches, include having the sandwich creations invented by family members, and named after their parents’ favorite bands.

Our Waukesha location opened in Fall of 2015 and boasts a lovely patio and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Best latte I have ever had in my life! It was like a fall party in my mouth and the sweet corn biscuit which sold out within 1hr of opening was one of the best bites I have ever had! This place is a MUST STOP- detour if you have to! The customer service was out of this world! David and Eliza KILLED it!Food: 5/5
On an early morning road trip, tough to find a non-fast food coffee shop that is open as early as 7am on a Saturday. Coffee was delicious, but the blueberry scone was worth writing home about - wow. Soft and fluffy with the perfect suggestion of crisp and crumble on the outside.Food: 5/5
Autumn spice latte hot with a Lemon pastry. The latte was good but it was way too sweet for me, should have gotten half the sweetener. The lemon pastry was pretty amazing, never had anything like it, it was like eating lemon flavored rice pudding? kind of just melted on your tongue. I also tried their lavender latte and it was very tasty! It's a cute little place in a plaza with some parking in the plaza. Sraff was friendly, nut the energy was off & unfortunately the prices a bit too high for the portions, I think.
This is my second time here, and this is now my fav cafe! Last time I ordered a lavender latte almond milk, this time I ordered a salted butterscotch latte almond milk along with a chocolate chip cookie. Not only is/are the coffee/drinks delicious, but so are the pastries. The drinks have the perfect balance between sweet and strong, and I absolutely love the atmosphere of the cafe. The area is pretty, baristas are very kind, and the playlist they play is amazing! Definitely recommend
The coffee was incredible as well as the blueberry scone- the service was amazing David & Eliza were amazing & sooo helpful. 10/10 would definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
I absolutely LOVE this coffee shop! I started going here a few months ago and boy is their coffee delicious! I usually get the Lavender Oat Milk latte. I like the hot better but I started getting it iced because the portion is larger. Their pastries are excellent too but order early because they go fast! They have been handling COVID so well. You can quickly place your order online and then they place your beverage on a clean table right outside their store for pick up - no line ever and always fast! I hope they make it through this pandemic and beyond because this has become my favorite local coffee shop!
Come here twice and have gotten the matcha lavender latte which is so good, you can actually taste the lavender and the matcha isn’t overpowering. The Garden of Eden tastes like you’re getting frenched by a peach. People are nice. Pretty good Free wifi but only one? outlet visible to charge
I just had a Kenya Thunguri pourover and it was delicious. It was nice and fruity which is always what I'm looking for in coffee. They roast their own coffee now which is a plus.Food: 5/5
Busy but still comfortable, they have a nice matcha latte that isn't full of sugar. Their drip coffee is also very good. Haven't had any food yet but my friend has and she enjoyed it. Parking is best on the street, the lot is very small. I've never had a problem parking close.Service: 5/5
Probably the best coffee in the north valley! I strongly recommend getting the single origin espresso! The americano is wonderful, especially iced. If you leave without trying one of the breakfast burritos, YOU MISSED OUT!!! Hope u enjoy:
