Welcome to the Rugged Boot & Shoe Co. We are a full service boot & shoe shop specializing in sizes & widths for men & women. We pride ourselves on our personal service & professional fitting to make your feet more comfortable whether your at work, at play or traveling around the world.

We measure your feet with a computer for a more accurate size & width. We can then make our recommendations for the type of shoe or boot that would be serve your needs as well as the socks that would make your feet even more comfortable. After all, socks are the “tires for your feet”.

We carry some of the best brands available in the world in Men’s WORK BOOTS, Women’s & Men’s HIKING BOOTS, Women’s & Men’s SNEAKERS, Women’s & Men’s SANDALS, Women’s & Men’s CASUAL LIFESTYLE SHOES.

I shopped at the Long Island Rugged Boot for nearly 20 years. It was a wonderful store with excellent selection and amazing staff. I recommended the store to so many people who also became regulars. I am disappointed that the doors closed without any notice. It is sad because there was a following of dedicated customers who supported this local small business throughout the years.
Been going here since I was a kid, been going every year since I started working to get work boots. Their service and knowledge is unmatched. I never had to spend more than 15mins there. I tell them what qualities I'm after, my budget and they bring out 2 or 3 options for me. I've been completely satisfied everytime. If you're looking to get in and out without having to comeback, these people are great. 11/10, come for the boots, stay for the caboose.
This place has excellent service. They offer personalized attention and take the time to fit you properly then to find a shoe you're going to love. Prices are a little high but the selection is better quality than other places
It is difficult to find hiking type shoes for Women, in wide sizes. Most stores have nothing for me. However, Rugged Boot & Shoes had a wonderful shoe that worked great for me! I received excellent customer service. My husband and I now both shop in this store on a regular basis. Great people! Highly recommend!
I have dealing with rugged boot for several years. Very accommodating. Special orders not a problem. They keep excellent records so i can just call and place an order. I purchase high end boots as needed for family member regularly.
This is the best place to purchase boots. They don't have a lot in stock, but the service is great. They will help you find the boot or shoe that is right for you and your feet. I ordered a pair of red wings that they did not have in stock. A few days later they were at my door.
They are a specialized stored and know what they are doing. The spend time with each of their customers, if needed, and provide honest and helpful information to help make the best decision for the type of shoes that you will need. They have a good selection of work boots, especially.
Rugged Boot & Shoe is the only place that my husband and I have gone to get shoes since moving to the Hudson Valley 13 years ago. My husband had *very* wide feet 10.5EEEEEE and I have fairly wide feet 7.5EE, and the staff and selection have always been on point. I have never had a bad experience, their customer service is stellar, and I tell everyone I can about them. They are no more expensive than anywhere else, plus you have the satisfaction of knowing that you're getting excellent product, excellent service, and that you're also buying from a small business.
The Rugged Boot and Shoe is the ONLY place to go if you want KNOWLEDGEABLE staff who offer PERSONALIZED attention and IMPECCABLE service. This is a store whose first priority it is to serve its customers the "old fashioned way", INDIVIDUALLY, each and every one. They put their customers' needs first and take pride in that, as well as in their products and workmanship.
Love this place. Great selection of boots and I always leave with a new pair and happy with my choice. Staff is very helpful in fitting you with a comfortable boot for heavy duty or light duty or even hiking.
