The Salvation Army Thrift Store Marshalltown Iowa

Used to be one of my favorite thrift stores in town. Now most things are in locked cases with absurdly high price tags. About a year ago, I donated an old Polaroid Land camera that they don’t make film for anymore. It’s still in a locked case with a $500 price tag. Polaroid Land cameras only sell for about $25-$40 on eBay… and this is a thrift store not an antique shop.

They need to sell more clothing and arrange the store so its easier to shop. Its way too cluttered. Clean up and donate some of the clothing to the community. That store use to be so organized. Things were sorted way better. The backroom use to able to be shopped. Now customers cant even get to the fitting rooms or restrooms. This store is hard for elderly or wheelchair bound customers to access.

They had an okay selection of stuff, but the location is very small compared to others, not much kids stuff though. Ended up leaving empty handed because they required a 'minimum purchase' My kids only found a couple books, but they weren't even close to the required minimum to use my debit card. Our stop ended up being a good waste of time on a crummy rainy day at least.

Wonderful store! Furniture, clothes, books, shoes, tons of baby items and all the other thrift store items. Sometimes has major appliances but you usually have to be there shortly after they are set out. Selection is somewhat limited, probably because they are giving items away to help the tornado victims. They are there to serve God and the public! THE PRICES ARE VERY LOW! Most shirts are under $2 with some high quality items... if you look for them. Furniture is usually under $50! Overall MUCH cheaper than G**dwill! You should go there and see for yourself!

This store isn't what it used to be. Some of the prices they have make it worth buying new. it's kind of sad. Note I don't go there for the clothes.

One of the best thrift stores in the area, always something good to find here. Amazingly affordable prices, new stuff frequently, what more is there to want? Check it out.

Great deals, just have to look for what will fit and you like.

LOVE this store! Super prices and store personnel are always helpful and pleasant. I visit this location at least twice a week

The store had looked like management was cleaning and rearrangeing a few months back. I stopped by last week and the door was locked with a sign stating there was no one to mind the store. The prices are high for the items offered. And it looks messy. It is a sad little store.
