We are an independent educational institution influenced by the rich cultural traditions that have sustained African people through 500 years of struggle.
We are developing an educational space for children of African descent (African American, Black & African). We meet the 3rd Sunday of each month from 12-2pm.
The School of African Roots (SOAR) seeks to create and maintain a nurturing, supportive, and intentional learning environment for children of African descent. This environment will focus on promoting a strong sense of cultural identity, personal self-worth, and a commitment to serving the interests of African (Black) people and the community at large.
The school will accomplish our objectives by:
Creating an educational focus around our humanist, egalitarian, and collective experiences as decedents of great people from the continent of African.
Promote selflessness, determination, honesty, courage, and love for other people who look like us, and all of humanity.
Building an inter-generational Village model for youth and their community
Construct an rigorous academic program to stimulate their innate intellect
