Reviews
If you buy a custom made shirt from The Shirt Store after reading this review, then the consequences are your OWN FAULT. You only have yourself to blame because I warned you, yet you didn't listen. I should preface this review by first saying that I work in investment banking and am a veteran of custom shirts. I've bought custom shirts at 5 different retailers over the last 10 or so years. I can say without hesitation that The Shirt Store isn't worthy of your hard earned dollars. You are better off setting hundred dollar bills on fire than shopping at this store, literally. All three employees I encountered were incompetent, especially the white manager I think his name is Jeremy or Jerry. Jeremy is the one who did my measurements, and he did them horribly. I should back up a bit. I should frame my story by first saying that some people just do not belong in a client facing, customer service role. None of the three employees of this establishment should be dealing with customers. Jeremy belongs in the back office of an accounting firm, because it fits his dead-spirited attitude he so clearly hates his job and his life. The black lady and short Latino man belong somewhere in which they don't need to speak or think. So, let's get back to Jeremy's horrible measurements. This guy didn't make a single suggestion in the design phase. He just wanted me out the door as quick as possible. After waiting 5 weeks for 3 shirts that I purchased, it turns out that the arms were 1 inch too short, the chest was 3 to 4 inches too wide, the collar was too tight, and the arm holes were like 2 inches too big that's 4 inches in circumference. This shirt looked absolutely ridiculous, like meant for a clown since the proportions were all wrong. After complaining, the black lady confirmed these mistakes by Jeremy, but not after first insulting me a few times. These were deliberate insults, not careless remarks. No one has the power to refit or give refunds, except for Jeremy. So, I had to wait until after he finished at the gym between 10am and 12:30pm on a Monday. So, he agreed to send them back to be remade, or so I thought. This took another 5 weeks. The second time was no better. They didn't change anything except take in the chest. This lacks integrity. The Latino man had the gall to say I was mistaken when I said the adjustments written on the sheet had nothing to do with the adjustments that were supposed to be made. They wouldn't give me a refund, instead begging that they try one more time to get it right. I am waay too nice. So, it takes another 2 weeks to take in the arm holes. The arm length and collar issues don't make the shirt unwearable....just poorly fitted...and I didn't feel like waiting another 5 weeks. Plus, they wouldn't have changed them anyway since they'd just argue that the fit is "fine" or "sexy" ugh, vomit. After 12 weeks I was still thoroughly dissatisfied with the shirts but just wanted to be done interacting with these idiots. While I was shopping the first time, there was an irate customer who wanted to know why his alterations were taking so long. I shouldn't have shopped there after this event. I blame myself for continuing. It's the reason why I wasn't as mad at them as I should have been...because I knew it was partly my own fault for shopping there in the first place. I should have known. This is your warning. Instead of shopping here, I suggest that you set 6 one hundred dollar bills on fire. This skips the 12 weeks of waiting, horrible interactions, annoying insults, and frustrations. Just skip to losing $600 dollars of hard earned money....because you'd be better off.
