First time here, but what a great experience! The food, service and drinks were amazing! The building is a little outdated, but it is a historical building with rich history There is a neat photo timeline near the restrooms that shows the history of the building, going back to the 1880s. All of our food was amazing, but I highly recommend the soup flight and platter both offer a good sampling of different Eastern European tastes. Service was outstanding, waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a speakeasy in the basement, but unfortunately wasn’t open when we went the speakeasy is only open on the weekends.
You can taste the effort and love that goes into making each dish. The pierogi tasted like heaven, and my short rib melted like butter. Loved the beet martini, definitely recommend an imported beer. Looking forward to coming back and trying the stuffed cabbage! Plan to spend some money and some time here, just know that the price and the wait are more than worth it.
Well done outside sitting areas , great decor inside. Services with high standards. Very clean bathrooms. My only concern is the quality of french fries . I was expecting crunchy fresh, not saggy, and oily . Definitely will be back to checking more delicacies from the kitchen.Food: 5/5
Eating here was a solid decision. The food was a little expensive but the atmosphere topped with the quality of the food made the experience worth it. The service was also on point and efficient. Great spot 10/10Food: 5/5
We had a last minute wedding less than 10 days notice. Alina went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us with everything. We were able to setup decorations early. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was great and everything was prompt. Alina was readily available to answer all of our questions leading up to the special day. We are truly grateful for all that Olesia's did for us.
I absolutely love this place as you can get a mix of "regular" and traditional Eastern European foods. I've had borscht before but not like this...full of vegetables with different flavor profiles. The Russian ravioli was delicious as is the chicken paprikash...just like homemade and not what you'd expect from a restaurant. Highly recommend
We 6 all enjoyed our meals. The Soup Flight looked amazing. I had a house salad very nice the Short Rib-stuffed Crepes w/side of Garlic Roasted Potatoes. I couldn't remember the actual name of the crepes dish & the menu on their website is from 2020. Sadly I didn't take a photo... While the crepes could have been hotter, they & everything was delicious. We had to eat in the Speakeasy as there was a mix-up w/our reservation. The stairwell is not well lit. And, as it was inclement weather, we couldn't opt for patio dining. Drew was animated, helpful & gifted me their wonderful Creme Brulee w/6 spoons - everyone loved it for my 81st birthday celebration.
Amazing setting. Incredible service. Phenomenal food. Our server was hands down, one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Her attentiveness, kindness, and recommendations were amazing. The grilled salmon was PACKED full of everything under the sea. The salmon was so tender. Everything was chalked full of flavor and the cream brûlée was so delicious. Highly recommend!!!
What a bummer. As someone who lives in Gdańsk, I was excited to try Ohioans take on Ukrainian- American fare. Our visit started well with our server Tim greeting us and making cocktail and food suggestions. First round of drinks came out no problem. Then another party of 18 sat down and from then on our table was neglected. It’s unfortunate that management did not staff appropriately, especially since they make their servers rely on tips for income. They forgot our soups and slopped them together when we reminded them. We also had to beg one of the children who fill water to hail our server. The food was alright except for the pierogi which was very underwhelming. Also, I ordered a whiskey sour, waited 30 mins for the drink and received the wrong cocktail. However, this mistake was corrected quickly. Fine dining shouldn’t include soups served like this.
We ate outside and it was a pleasant, almost European atmosphere. There was a guitarist playing which was nice. The food has an eastern European flare to it and it reminds me of my Hungarian roots as comfort food. Good wine list too.Food: 5/5
