The Tooth Fairy Dental Hygiene Clinic is a Dental Hygiene clinic owned and operated by Lori Garlough, RDH. Lori entered the world of dentistry in 1989 as a Certified Dental Assistant, then became a Registered Dental hygienist 20 years ago. In 2006 Dental Hygienists were permitted to practice independantly from dentists, and The Tooth Fairy was the first clinic of it's kind to open in The Seaway Valley.
Lori prides herself in providing the highest quality dental care to people at lower cost. No one is "just a number" at The Tooth Fairy; we take the time that is missing in most dental offices in order to help provide the best care to our patients. Even though people are fooled by the name, The Tooth Fairy isn't just for kids! Lori's background is actually treating advanced periodontal (gum disease) cases; she worked for several years for one of Ottawa's top Periodontists, and she also has a strong background in Orthodontics (braces).
Many people comment that she is the most gentle hygienist they have ever had, and Lori does her best to make everyone feel comfortable while having a cleaning.
We have flexible hours to fit busy schedules; evening and weekend appointments are available. And if you can't come to the office, The Tooth Fairy makes house calls! We have a completely portable/mobile clinic as well as our regular office, and this allows Lori to go into people's homes and any other facility if people aren't able or don't want to go out to a dental office...a great thing for families with small children or elderly in nursing homes!
We have direct billing to most insurance companies, so you don't have to pay us...the insurance company will.
Appointments are normally available within a week or short notice...we do our best to fit everyone in without too long a wait. Please leave a message about times and dates that will work if you get the answering machine; we may be out of the office doing mobile visits when you call, or we may be with another patient...we WILL call you back!
We are not associated with any particular dentists, so we have an unbiased opinion on any work that needs to be done. We try to help you avoid having fillings done, not push you to have expensive treatment that might not be needed. We offer free consultations if you have any questions about your current oral care or treatment that has been suggested.
