Good salon for my curly hair. Love the haircut by LaQueeta. Good value. Appointment was on time. Definitely will return here. If you are looking for a place to care for your curly hair that doesn’t charge ridiculous prices, come here. It is up the stairs in the Safeway shopping center, behind Peets Coffee. Plenty of parking. Nice and friendly. I’ve tried a few salons for curly hair in Oakland and this is is the best. They don’t make you fee like your hair is hard or troublesome requiring a $$$ cut. Vibe is casual and chatty, friendly.
I am not one to leave reviews however my experience at this establishment has not been a good one. The co owner Star traneesha uses deceptive business practices regarding her pricing. I took myself and my daughter in and she would tell me one price however when it was time to pay would change the price with no specific reason. I did not think that was ethical however I paid regardless . When it came to the actual services she would have us wait for hours then take even more hours for some simple styles based on the length of hair that should not take long. When they would put the corn rows in for my daughter it would be done so tightly and heavy handedly it literally turned my daughters scalp redchild is 10. I had to hold her hand while she cried the entire time.
