The Training Mat (TTM)
Welcome to THE TRAINING MAT of Moreno Valley. We offer simple and practical self defense for men, women and children that is both safe and affordable. Our emphasis on weekly one-on-one instruction is one of the many qualities that makes our school unique.
We teach a comprehensive blend of time tested and proven Eastern fighting arts (White Tiger Kenpo) combined with progressive Western training methods. Through the use of self defense techniques (basic responses to common attacks), forms (also known as Katas), kicks (similar to those found in kick-boxing and classical martial art systems) and grappling techniques (from Catch Wrestling) we give our students the tools needed to handle a confrontation whether the situation remains standing, goes to the ground or requires doing what the rules of combat based sports do not allow.
Our highly trained and certified instructors Mark O'Dell, Mark Houston, and Jesse Marez have over 75 years of combined teaching experience and are committed to meeting the goal of every student whether it is to improve physical fitness, coordination or concentration.
