If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We sat down at 10:55am. Servers passed us several times without acknowledging us. We were beginning to think maybe we were invisible so we stopped a passing server at 11:10 and asked if she could take our drink order. She said the other server had our table and would send her over. The other server never came over so we asked the original person if she could maybe take our drink order. She begrudgingly took our drink orders but took off before we could ask about ordering food At 11:35, we finally were able to order food and were told that hash browns aren’t served after 11:30. We informed the server that we had been ready to order earlier but no one was able to take our order. At least 2 people in our party ordered hash but had to sub tots for hashbrowns, which is the weirdest way to get hash. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelet, which was prepared with cheese that looked a lot like Kraft singles which isn’t actually considered real cheese. We had to flag the server down to order more drinks as well as to pay. The servers seemed to be more concerned about changing the channels on the TV than actually taking orders and helping customers. We finally were able to leave at 1:30pm after one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. I understand that establishments are short staffed right now but there is never an excuse for rudeness.
Drinks were great. Breakfast was incredible. 15-20 patrons in here on a Sunday morning. One bartender/waiter and one cook. They did a great job keeping up with everything despite being short staffed. Will definitely be back again.
We went on a Tuesday evening. My son had an appointment in the area, so I did a Google search for restaurants near us, this one had good reviews so we tried it. Great friendly service. They messed up on the pizza my son ordered, as soon as I told them they were willing to do whatever we wanted to make it right, we just asked for the banana peppers that he asked for as an add on, they apologized again and brought him the peppers. The food was good. There was a guy playing live music that night, didn't even know they did that, so that was a nice bonus. We will definitely come again, the next time we are in the area. I highly recommend The U Bar & Grill.
Small town bar atmosphere. The place was clean and inviting. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. My server was very friendly and very happy to be there. She greeted us with a smile and was a delight to work with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.Food: 5/5
My sister and I are there for the first but not last time on September 21st. I had the French dip and fries. Cooked to perfection and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. Sus had casedia and was very impressed. We will definitely be back. The owners and staff are friendly and efficient. Five stars from us!!
The U Neighborhood Grill is exactly that, a nearbye watering hole where locals go to drink and eat evenings, weekends, after baseball games. It's very family friendly with entertainment for the teens and tweens while the parents relax with adult drinks. It was our first visit and had a cheese pizza and and one called the Home Run with chicken, beef, pepperoni and sausage. They were awesome! Thick crunchy crust with a sweeter than usual marinara sauce. They were filling and worthy to take home for tomorrow. We didn't try any other menu items but the pizza is worth the trip!
Went for lunch and they have a great menu! Lots of options. We didn't order it but the pizza looked devine! Great drinks too I had a bloody mary and it was delicious! Lots of tvs to watch sporting events and things plus games for kids and adults too I guess!Food: 5/5
If 0 stars was an option, this place would have it. There was hair in our Buffalo chicken sandwich. I called the restaurant to talk with them about it. She asked the color of the hair and when my boyfriend held it up it looked blonde. She said there was no one with blonde hair cooking so I can take it up with Uber eats and she will dispute it and hung up on me. I called back to say I looked at the photos he took and it was brown and she said no one with brown hair was cooking either. She, MELISSA, said they get many calls from people saying they have stuff like hairs in their food every week. I said they should handle food better and she hung up on me AGAIN!! Wether I ordered it through a delivery service, ate there, or picked it up, the hair was in the sandwich. That had nothing to do with Uber but the restaurant themselves. I called before leaving a review so they could correct their mistake with good customer service and sadly, she did not do that. Absolutely disgusted by both the food and her attitude.
Solid service for being so short staffed. I had a breakfast sandwich and Biscuits and gravy. The sandwich was solid but the biscuits and gravy were awesome. My wife had the French dip which she graded as so-so. But the folks were friendly and the vibe was nice. We will definitely be going again. And that is saying something seeing as we drove all the way over from Pleasant Hill on the recommendation of friends.
I haven't gotten around to write this review because I was sad we had to give up on the place we have gone to every week, sometimes more than once a week. There were a few issues that caused us to give up on this establishment. New owners came in and there were some expected changes. Such as, different trivia and staff changes. We are flexible and understood. They said they were not changing the menu, however, there were changes in the food. The homemade chips and queso turned into bagged chips and velveeta/rotel dip. The crust on the previously amazing pizza was no longer the same and not as good but still edible. The ordering definitely changed and they seemed to run out of things frequently as they did not know how to order. They had no fries at peak dinner rush and seemed to have multiple things out of stock because they didn't order correctly. They stopped carrying two types of alcohol that the regulars we knew from trivia, drank weekly. You should pay attention to the things your regulars order to make sure you don't remove something that is ordered frequently. They also did not communicate if events were canceled which was VERY irritating. We arrived on a Monday night for bingo and sat and waited for about 30 to 45 min for it to start, ordered food and it wasn't starting 10 min past start time. We inquired and were told bingo was canceled for that day. They said we were on the wrong Facebook page so we added the correct one and there was still no post about canceled bingo, no sign on the door, and wait staff did not notify us. There were 2 tables there for bingo and no one knew it was canceled. This also happened with trivia and nobody was notified even when we went to trivia EVERY week. BUT, here's what put us off from the U for good... we went for brunch which we have gone for before when previous owners were there and it was great! We arrived around 11 for brunch which ends at 2pm. We were one of the 2 tables in the restaurant, the other table was not drinking. There were 4 of us at the table and 3 people ordered bottomless mimosas. They decided to give us the bottle of champagne and orange juice to make our own since 3 people ordered it. After 4 bottles, we decided we would do one more bottle for the 3 of us before leaving around 1230pm. We were told they had run out of champagne. No big deal, we asked if we could have a screwdriver instead since THEY ran out of champagne and the screwdriver and mimosas are the same price for bottomless. We were told, by the owner, that we could not have a screwdriver in place of the mimosa unless we paid for it separately. We stated that it didn't seem fair considering they ran out. We were not warned prior to ordering that they only had 4 bottles in stock, or we would have ordered something different. We were very irritated when leaving due to the poor customer service and the lack of communication. Unfortunately, due to the quality and service going downhill so quickly we have decided not to visit The U anymore. Its very sad to see this happen to such a great restaurant.
