The University of Connecticut Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers serves as a support group not only to black engineering students, but to any student who is determined to excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community at the University of Connecticut. Our organization has been serving the University of Connecticut and communities around the State of Connecticut since 1981, and continues to progress and grow through the increase in chapter membership and members who go on to pursue
professional careers.
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is owned and managed by its members. With more than 30,000 members around the world, NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States. NSBE’s mission is "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."
